I use to use a cheap volka soak on my silica wicks; but now that I use cotton, I pull out cotton, pulse coils at 3.3 v until no more smoke comes off them, then use the smallest of those teeny, tiny GUM tooth brushes for between your teeth dunked in 99% alcohol. Thread the brush thru coils and back out again, use down sides, and brush lightly the top. Let dry (won't take long) and rewick with new cotton. :)

Pretty much do exactly the same thing. Those gum dental picks are perfect for coil cleaning.

I don't often use silica (but when I do I prefer Dos Equis). Back when I did use silica, it all depended on what liquid was used. My wife has always used this dark spicy tobacco liquid and I don't think surplus fissionable material from a nuclear reactor can clean that out of a wick. I usually would just trash her coils. My lighter fruity vapes were soaked in everclear, flushed with hot water, dry burned and reused many times. We never exchanged used coils...she reused hers when possible, and I used mine.
