might pay to be on the safe side and pop your battery out before you leave your mod in direct sunlight. With the direct sunlight metal can get reeeal hot. as we know from trying to put on our safety belt on a super sunny hot day, Yeeeowch
All very good points....I think you could have a devastating result either trying to push the firing pin on a hot battery or dropping a hot battery on concrete (above 140F- which is very possible in a hot car).
I see people mentioning marking batteries - is it safe to say, take a sharpie and write a single letter or number on the side plastic of a battery? If not, how else would I mark my batteries?
Alright. I want to keep my batteries in pairs and not mix and match them (I stack in a saber touch) and wanted to mark them to ensure I never accidentally get them mixed together. But, didn't know if the chemicals in the sharpie were okay to put on a battery.

In a sabre touch a permanent marker will probably be fine. In a Reo mini, I found the very little juice that finds it's way in there and on to my fingers was enough to wipe the markings off. So I ran a piece of masking tape around the battery and marked that. That seems to work fine.
What do I do if I drop a battery?
Well it depends where I dropped it. If I dropped it on my bare toe I do the pain dance, you know jump up and down on one leg making my pain face saying "aah ooch ouch grrrr!"
