What do you do with juice you hate?

I'm lucky to have a co-worker that also vapes so we're always exchanging juices. :)

as do I...its really nice if you forget your juice at home or want to sample something different. I'm picky with flavor so usually he ends up getting more juices headed his way than I do coming mine.

i save all of mine (currently, over 100) until they expire, for the rare times when i run out...and then spend the entire day trying each one again, going "nah, let's try another" lol...unless they're *complete* crap, that is (and i'll vape almost anything) -- in which case, i throw them out immediately, because they are juices that NO ONE would like...

for instance, today i got "pumpkin" from a Noob supplier -- now i love pumpkin -- pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin seeds, even pumpkin soup. this tasted nothing like that. it tasted exactly like a rotting pumpkin...you know, like how it smells when you finally remove your huge, mushy jack-o-lantern from the porch, a week after halloween...on a humid afternoon...in Africa.

I'll put the standard disclaimer that taste in juice is subjective. Just because I hate them doesn't mean everyone will. But I really won't understand if you do. That goes for everything, so I'm just going to give my opinions as declarative statements to make writing simpler.

I tried most of them with both a (generic) 901 and (don't remember the brand but not especially nice) 510 atty on my Twist in a range of voltages. The 901s are probably SR, the 510s are LR, but I don't know the details. I don't feel like I have a cold. And I was drinking water to clear my palate……sometimes desperately……and, uhh……more on that in a sec.

This order came from MadVapes. They're not branded as madvapes…something generic like "Pro Vapers" or something. They're not around right now, so I'll check later if anyone cares.

The horrible one:

Kona Creme. It came highly recommended. At least, I think it did. Might have been the same name from another vendor. This one tastes like the epitome of starbucks. (BTW, I'm kind of a coffee snob) It tastes like bad beans roasted under the space shuttle to remove all trace of where they came from or what they actually taste like, covered up with a metric ton of sugar, de-oxygenated milk with heavy-cream flavoring purfume, and a cup that seeps into the drink. It was the second thing I've ever hated based on taste (as opposed to texture or something else) and makes my first experience eating goose liver pate (when I was like 14) seem like a blessing……and I think I swallowed a cracker without chewing it to get that taste out of my mouth. My mouth/throat tasted like blood after that one, and this experience was worse.

It didn't get a second chance, as I was running for strong foods, coffee, soda, and a few other things to get that taste out of my mouth. Nothing worked.

It was also worse than Bakon Vodka, which had me immediately order a triple shot of Jack to wash away (which I used more like mouth wash than shooting). This was worse. If it'd been available, I'd have gone straight for grain alcohol to try and wash it out……tasting nothing for a few hours would have been better than tasting that.

I still feel like it's in my head, and this was hours before I started the thread. So, also take the others with a bigger grain of salt. I'll give them another chance after I've either thoroughly cleaned or replaced all my attomizers and figured out how to get my head to stop tasting like it.

Seriously………the worst thing I have ever tasted.

The bad ones:

Cookies & Creme. At first it kinda tasted like melting/roasting oreos. Now it tastes like sugar alcohol and month-old c&c ice cream that's been re-frozen a dozen times. And I effing love oreos and cookies & cream ice cream.

Cantaloupe. I don't know what planet the cantaloupes they're based on are from, but that planet has never had earth cantaloupes or heard them described in a language that exists on earth.

The mediocre ones:

Mad Torro. It doesn't taste anything like Red Bull. I bought it in my ongoing quest to be able to taste RB late at night without the caffeine. It doesn't accomplish that, but it's at least bearable……if a bit generic. While I was tooting on it, the Kona Creme flavor kinda went away, which was nice. Unfortunately, it came back.

Lemon-Lime Soda. It doesn't really taste like Sprite. It's a little heavy on the lemon for me. And it's a little strong for me. Running my twist down around 3.4 V helped that, but the vape wasn't as enjoyable. I'll have to try it in a carto at some point…see if that tames it a bit.

Fireball. Meh. Kinda tastes like a really generic version of cinnamon chewing gum.

They all kinda tasted like someone managed to send a flavor through a fax machine. Whether that flavor was based on a good idea or not depended on the juice.

The more I think about it, the more I think that the Kona Creme might have affected my taste in the others more than I originally thought. That evil taste is still in my head (barely) after brushing my teeth repeatedly, drinking, sobering up, eating, drinking sodas, etc. over the course of about 7 hours. Man, I want this to stop. I'm just really happy it wasn't my first juice.

That's what I get for paying $0.45/ml.

Is this a MadVapes issue? A cheap juice issue? Or could the after taste of the Kona really screwed up my taste buds that much?

I don't think I'm going to give them another chance. I'd honestly rather vape unflavored than any of them.

Along those lines, anyone want to explain how to really clean an atomizer? Because if soaking in grain alcohol doesn't work, I'm probably chucking them all……I can't remember which one the Kona was in, and I'm afraid that aftertaste has something to do with all of MadVapes's juice and not just that one. Would boiling them work, or will that just ruin the wicks?

I'm seriously tempted to write off Mad Vapes's juice and all of my atomizers, pay like $20 for some generic chinese "USA Blend" at a local smoke shop to get me through the next few days (and just put it straight into a tank because I know it sucks less than these), and start over with an overnight order from someone else on Monday. If I had more disposable income and/or hadn't just blown my monthly budget, I'd have the orders in already. I really wish I ordered more juice before I was so low……

After this experience, I sure as heck will be buying a few dozen cheap atomizers. The only reason I didn't immediately throw away the Kona atty was because I only own 4 at this point……and now that I don't know which one it was, I really wish I had.

Thank goodness I didn't try it in an HH.367 or AVA or something. I'd hate to have to throw one away if I couldn't get this taste out of it.

I'm going to go find something to put ghost pepper sauce on……maybe that'll make it go away.

Get some Capella flavor drops to doctor up lame e-juice.
Get four or five strong flavor-drop bottles, then choose which flavor might best enhance your otherwise lame dud of an e-liquid you've gotten stuck with.
Like, get: Cinnamon, Mint, Sour apple, and any others that you think might work for you.
If you're at a loss as to where to get flavor drops, then here is a start:
5 Flavor Super Deal for 19.95
I can't say how many drops of flavor per 10 ml of e-juice to use, so ask the vendor or somebody else here for advice - check out the DIY sub-forum here too.
No need to let weak lame juice waste away; it's got the nicotine in it already so just jazz it up a bit.:2c:

Oh wow, that was funny. At the beginning of this thread I saw where you're from and actually thought "hey, maybe we can work out a juice swap." after reading your descriptions though...I think I'll pass.

Actually it's funny that you had problems with MadVapes juice; I also have a couple bottles of MV juice that I tried once and never again. They both seemed to have some extra chemical taste or something that I disliked. I guess you don't want to trade for more MV juice, huh?

I can relate to bad e juices. I tend to steer clear of ones in the "bargain bins" now. I learned the hard way though. I have some blueberry I wouldn't give to my worst enemy. It smells nice but tastes like the pee pad my puppy uses smells. Just to be clear my puppy will also poo on the pad if I work late, she's learning. So thats the actual small that reminds me of this particular e juice and how it tastes. Its not expired either. I plan on dumping it and hope to save the bottle after boiling it and maybe dropping it into my ultrasonic cleaner for a few days. Selling juice that bad is just wrong. I would sooner pick up a nasty analog cigarette .... and chew on that than vape this blueberry juice. Just sayin we all get a bad one at times.

I might give it a try. I'll keep the lemon-lime and red bull…the rest of it is up for grabs. I'll be in Midtown all week, PM me if you're interested.

Today, the lemon-lime definitely just tastes "not aweseome," so I think a lot of it had to do with the Kona being so terrible and lasting forever. It finally went away with a combination of grapes, pizza rolls, and bacon dipped in ghost peper sauce.

I have to admit I am dying to try the kona now. Seriously. Also: do you usually like coffee flavors? I am not experienced at all, since I am so limited on funds right now. I have only tried a handful of flavors but my two faves so far are the Volt cappuccino and vapor4life's green tea. As soon as I get some cash I plan to get a bunch of sample sizes and I'll likely include lots of tea and coffee variations. I could see myself picking something called Kona.

Lol…I've thought about it. I'm just a bit too broke. Plus, I doubt positive reviews would go over as well……and they'd be a lot more fun (for me).

The kona was mentioned in one of grimmgreen's videos as being "finally" a good coffee flavor. I've since decided either that he and I have polar opposite tastes in coffee or that it was the same name from a different vendor. And it was the first coffee I tried……I kind of assumed they'd be terrible. So far……suspicion confirmed.

After giving my atomizers a thorough cleaning, though, the Lemon-Lime Soda, Mad Torro, and Fireball flavors are easily usable. Not great, but usable. The others are up for grabs.

Heh……tonight, I could smell which atty had the kona in it. Almost threw up. It's okay now.

White vinegar and baking sode might get it out.

You haven't tried anything that bad yet! Give bluemistvaping's crab juice a run...or freedomsmokeusa's tuna (IF they still sell it). Ewwww....made everything in my house stink!
