What do you pray for? How do you pray? Prayer intimidates people, especially if they are praying out loud in church, Sunday School, or for a friend over the phone. One of the most tender and loving moments is when a friend prays for you. Prayer shows how much you love whomever it is by approaching an All Powerful, All loving, God to help someone in need. How many of us, me included, have felt the tug that God does on your heart to pray for someone and you didn't want to embarrass yourself because you don't know any lofty prayers. GOD DOES NOT WANT LOFTY PRAYERS. He wants you to stand in the gap....intercessory prayer...... for ones in need. Who's going to do it if you don't?

How do you do it? Well, it's like picking up the phone and dialing 1-800-PRAYERS. Pray for others like you would want them to pray for you. Jesus won't ever put you on hold, and you always have His attention. Why do we ask our friends advice first instead of going to THE One who has the power to answer you. Granted, we need to vent to those that we trust. You can vent to Jesus, as long as you are respectful. All you have to do is just talk about the burden on your heart. God allows this.....if not, I would have been zapped by lightning long before now. Talk to Him like you do your best friend, because in reality, He is your best friend.

I pray about silly things, really. I misplace items all the time. Since He knows where it is and I don't, I ask Him for help. I pray for handicap parking close to where I'm going so I don't have to walk so far. I ask Him for easy access onto a 4 lane highway. I pray for people when I hear sirens because it might be their last time to accept Jesus as their Saviour, plus the families. I have a section in my VHS tapes of a preacher I recorded many years back with outlines of sermons in a folder. I pray that He will guide the unsaved to my home after I'm raptured so they can learn of Jesus from them all. I have them marked so they can't miss it. I have the first page talking about the rapture so they will know the truth, not some lie from the government. I give money to the charities of my choice.....one is Jews for Jesus, as my father is a Messianic Jew, who is now living with Jesus. At night, when I put the chain on our door (we have other locks and we keep it locked come rain or shine) I ask for 4 Warrior Angels, one at each corner, of our home to keep us safe throughout the night. It doesn't matter who you are or how broken down your body is, like mine. There is always something you can do for the Lord's Kingdom. This is one of the many lessons I am learning from my Lord, as I was having a pity party. I talk with Him and He answers me.....not all the time, but 70% of the time. "My sheep know my Voice...." You just have to get on His radio frequency. Be a willing vessel for Him to use. It will amaze you how creative His mind is to come up with things that you can do to further His Kingdom. God has the 'X Factor,' and He NEVER breaks His Word.

Now I'm not claiming that I have all the answers because I don't. However I can sing you a song that even a child can understand: 'Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so; little ones to Him belong, they are weak but HE is strong; yes, Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, yes, Jesus loves me, for the Bible tells me so.'

AMEIN, CUZ! We should all pray for the healing of nations. Why pray for a world who is on it's way to destruction? Because that's who we are as Christians. We just don't give up! We want health, prosperity, law and order, for everyone. We want trust, safety, appreciation, respect, and love. We wish that everyone would accept Jesus, but we know there are those who won't. But it's not a time of stopping....give your time to prayer for all, including yourself. :)

Personally, I don't pray. To each his own.

So you are a Christian who doesn't pray? Is it you don't know how or you don't understand how prayer works? If you are not a Christian, you are still welcome here!

Prayer is the most powerful weapon we Christians have. The second most powerful weapon we have is Praise and Worship. Sometimes, prayers are answered quickly. Some prayers are heard but we have to wait. Some prayers, we are just told no. When you are praying and another person is involved, they have free choice. We cannot make anyone do anything. The only person I can change is myself. That was a difficult lesson for me to learn. However, God walks with us through our heartache. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

My God is a cosmic force. He/she/it doesn't grant wishes. IMO, Prayer is fine as a form of personal reflection. I can see the value there. But the notion that a man in the sky listens and answers ... well. To each his own.

I can see that you've never met Jesus on a personal level. I realize you're reading my accounts, but there are so many worldwide miracles that are happening everyday. Do I believe in miracles? You bet your bippy! It's not reflection, as I can do that on my own. I speak to the One who created everything. Many times he answers me...not audibly, but He speaks to my heart. It's like you just know. You hear within.....and it's words that you wouldn't normally say....or put in a sequence. Case in point. My sister had a cancer within the middle of her upper leg. She had to go with radiation after the surgery. What a mess the radiation caused. She had a bad reaction to it. This type of cancer can crop up again elsewhere in her body. She has residual nerve pain from the radiation. I was praying for her pain and the Lord told me, "Her pain is proof that I cured her." At first I thought I was talking to myself, but then I realized those words were not words I would have said...ie....cured, not healed. I held back telling my sister, just in case she would think I was nuts, but I finally told her. It looked like the weight of the world was lifted off her shoulders.

You wouldn't go the butcher for accounting problems, or an accountant for surgical problems. I take my prayers to The One who has the power to help. Just for funnsies, read the Book of Romans in the New Testament. Then read the Gospel of John. I'd be interested in your experience and critique afterwards. Don't do it for me, do it for yourself. I am praying for you. :)

For fun, read the old testament, then the new, and explain in what universe they describe the same god.

Sounds like I offended you by using the verbiage funnsies. No ill was intended. It's just one of the words I use. Sorry.

The word Testament means covenant. So the Bible contains two - one the Old Testament and the other New Testament. The Old Testament is governed by the 10 Commandments and the law of the Mosaic Books, the first 5 books which was penned by Moses, called The Torah. Jesus is mentioned all throughout the Old Testament. A good example (old vs new): Genesis 1:26 - "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness....." (Also, read Isaiah chapter 53.)Then John 1:1-3 - In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 2) He was in the beginning with God. 3) All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made. verse 14) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (All capitalization is from Scripture and I use the New King James Version.) Christians believe in a Holy Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The best way I can describe the Trinity is an egg. You have 3 different parts.....the shell is great for plant food, the white can be used for cooking, same with an egg yoke. They can operate on their own, but they make up 1 egg.

In the Old Testament, the Hebrews lived by the laws and were saved on the promise of a Saviour. Once a year, was a day of Atonement, in which an unblemished sheep was sacrificed. The shedding of innocent blood was the price of sin. This was done every year. In the New Testament, Jesus was our blood sacrifice. He took the sin of the world (all people before and all people after) and His death covers all. Jesus agreed to do this. The part that separates Christianity from the rest of the other religions is that He rose from the grave on the 3rd day. Our God isn't in the grave. He is sitting at the right hand of the Father. He was seen, after His death over 500 times. If you choose to do research, you might want to check the writings of Josephus, who was a historian of the day.

A small synopsis, but the best I can do off the cuff. I hope I've helped. :)

I pray for Peace in my home.
I pray for little things and big things.
But I am not good at setting aside time for "prayer"....
I am horribly out of practice with proper prayer. I have been trying, but the best I can do right now is short little please help! prayers as I am thinking about stuff. ....Two songs describe the situation I feel lately....both by a band called Tenth Avenue North
Even though they are entirely different albums...they fit together. Here is the first.

Thank you, Chapel. We've all been there. More than once, twice and many times. I sometimes have underlying depression, but since I got on a different anti-depressant, it's not as bad as it once was, even though, my brain fog is worse on the one I'm taking now.....but I'm happier in my fog. WHAT???!!!!!! Yep, I said it .... it makes sense to me, anyway! As far as peace in your home, have you ever tried spiritual housekeeping? That's when people go through their house and rebuke in the Name of Jesus any entity and cast them into the abyss. God grants you Kingdom authority. Use it. Because, it starts out subtle...you hardly notice it. It then gets worse, to where there is unrest throughout your entire home. Then, if you're slow, like me, it doesn't penetrate the brain for awhile. Then all of a sudden, you go 'OHHHHHHHHHHHH.' Something else you can do. Use any kind of oil, pray over it, then annoint your home by placing a small drop on surfaces like door frames into and out of your home, and surfaces that are touched by everyone. Then, believe. Have faith...because "he who waits upon the Lord shall renew their strength. He will lift you up on wings of eagles; you can run and not grow weary, you can walk and not faint." :)
