No question in my mind that a cartotank is superior in flavor production and with minimum maintanance once set up. Agreed it takes a few minutes to properly prime the caromizer, but the whole setup of a cartotank only takes me 5 minutes, and 1 minute to refill. Completely worth it to me.

I've found clearomizers to be undependable and unreliable comparitively. The most recent editions of the Kanger and Innokin clearos are a marked improvement over earlier clearos, but are not yet up to cartotanks.

Yeah, they definitely are.^

I love hearing that pop and sizzle, or when it sounds like you're vaping without actually vaping by just pulling on a perfectly primed cartomizer. They're made out to be a hassle, but I don't see it or have experienced any real problems. My liquid is pretty finicky on wicks though.

^They said 5minutes to prepare a cartomizer, but that isn't a hands on 5minutes. I like building my own coils, but I still prefer cartomizers.

I have not been vaping long at all, only about 2 months, so I speak with very little experience. However, with that being said, I love my carto tanks. I started with various clearos and they worked great. I was especially fond of the well liked Protank and the Vivi Novas. However, I then decided to give cartos a try and I don't think I will ever look back. I find them very easy to prime and, once primed, refilling is a breeze. Most importantly, I find the vaping experience to be much better; more flavor, throat hit and vapor. Overall, I am very pleased that I made the switch, but, like so much of this, it is personal preference.

I can suck the living daylights out of a clearo, was never able to do that with a carto.

That being said, I occasionally use them, when I want to vape discretely, even though the flavors are muted.

Are cartotanks that much better than cartos?

I can be heard clear across 1,000sqft with closed doors included, so I don't know how using a carto can be discreet for you. Maybe I'm interpreting your post incorrectly.

I like cartomizers by themselves, but using a tank with them is way less of a hassle. I tend to stick with pre-punched and slotted cartomizers. Punching my own tends to bend them a little and inhibits the seal of the carto to tank.

I was referring to the size, not the noise :D A tiny cartomizer is easier to conceal than a 2.4 mL clearo.

Clearos have the illusion of being easier, and, at first, they are. But vape it a day or two and you will, over time, begin to get leaks, flooding, wicking problems, draw problems, etc. This is not my opinion, we see these posts here 50 times a day. I do love the Protanks and Davide's, used to love the evods, but they are not hassle free by a long shot. If I'm going to have a hassle with both clearos and cartos, the carto tank, with the right tools (punch, tank tool), will not leak, will deliver a perfect vape every time for days, with a richer more saturated flavor and greater vapor production, all after priming it correctly. I have to admit that I sometimes lose a carto somewhere along the setup, maybe one in 5, but it's just so much worth it compared to replacing coils every two or three days, etc. Not to mention that there is no comparison in flavor and vape. You can often control the air flow on a carto easier than on a clearo too. My lovely Phiniac "Puff":

I also use IBTanks, but the Phiniac is a step above, imho. Good luck to you. My two cents.
