Highly overpriced organic cotton balls from my B&M, because I like supporting the local vape business. When I have to MacGyver it though, I use Scott's paper towels. Yes, the blue ones. And yes, I know they're probably not super healthy. But they work even better than the cotton, and I've always got them on hand wherever I am.

2mm Ekowool silica wick

I initially used cotton balls to make a wick for my kayfun, but found out later that cotton yarn was easier to work with.

The problem with cotton of any type is that you can't dry-burn your coil without burning up the cotton. Secondly, cotton don't last very long. Needs to be replaced every couple of days.

So, I have now stopped using cotton yarn and make my wicks using 2mm braided / hollow Ekowool silica. I looks and acts like cotton yarn, but it don't burn and your wicks will last a very long time before they need replacing ... Taste is just as good as cotton.

The photos below shows the wick made from cotton yarn, but the 2mm Ekowool silica looks the same, and the install method is the same as the cotton yarn.

BTW ... You will need to wind your coil around a 2.8mm (7/64") drill rod in order to have a large enough inside diameter of the coil so 2 pieces of the 2mm Ekowool can be pulled through the coil.

In my coil, I used 28 AWG Kanthal and 8 wraps to make a 1.6 ohm coil. I feed the coil 3.9v which is 9.5 watts.

I have found no better wick for my kayfun Lite Plus (authentic):

I believe you mean a mass spectrometer.

That is the end part of the equation. I would want to break it down into the component chemicals potentially emitted 1st.

Also I tried Rayon on Sunday. Rewicked 2 different RDAs multiple times, went back to cotton.
