Hello,
I’ve just registered at this forum since I have got into the world of e-cigs.
I recon a few years ago I saw one of the first e-cigs but wasn’t a big deal then.

Now a few years later, I am on vacation in France and the local paperstore here sell disposable e-cigarettes. They are of the brand cigaltern. And are about the same size as 100’s and have the normal appealance as normal cigarettes.
Using a battery and cartos.
Accueil Cigaltern - Cigarettes électroniques

I have bought here a couple now, and am verry interested in them as it helped me off analogs for about 8 days now.
Herefor I am looking into buying a decent pv to start with.
I have read a couple days now on other forums, but particular this one as there is a s**tload of information about e-sigs.

From what I can find most people don’t encourage to buy analoge lookalikes. Most of the cases because the batteries are crap and need to recharge a lot.
From what I have seen I can do 1,5 days with one battery and carto not empty yet.
I normally smoke a package (19sigs) in about 2 days. (specifications speak of no more then 230mah)

I’ve been reading about filling carto’s etc and other sorts of mods but understand just a little of all of them.

So I am looking for a good pv that suit my needs. But also looking into the future.
I probably need two ones as I want a good performer at home and a more portable for on the road.

The best I’ve seen so far (good performer) is the golden greek. But unfortunately they can not be bought anywhere as they are all sold out, wel… at least the tornado or the higher models.

A good one for on the road would be a 100’s lookalike but won’t suit my needs at home as they don’t produce that much vapor.

I’ve been reading a lot about the ego. But different sites mention the regular one and the tank one. So normal ego and ego tank.
Could someone please tell me what pro’s and cons of each are as I just know the atty is in the cone and it has a tank (for the tank one) I saw a vid on youtube.
Also there are some other ego types that I don't really understand

I probably want to buy a ego as there are a lot of mods and accessories for it. I know for myself I will be modding it soon ( doing it with almost everything)

Next thing I don’t understand is there are some accessories like the tank (A) type and B type. Also a big atty that uses the B type.
But…. Can all of these be used on the starter kit? I sure want to buy at least 2 extra atty’s and the only availlable atty is the MEGA TANK atomizer - Type B. Is this the normal one for this kit?

I think I want the tank one, but am not 100% sure.
Or do you guys have other suggestions, like in example ‘THE FOG’ this one seemed me a good one too.
But there are 2 versions. One that uses the 510 and the other the 910 atty’s.
What to take best here? What are the main differences between those two atty types.
And are they better then the ego-T?

Thank you from a novice vaping

I purchased an eGo-T for me and the wife. One of the complaints on the tank version is that they leak. I don't have any leaks, but my wife does. I'm thinking this may be the way she draws in the vapor (hard and fast), whereas I take in the draw slowly. I even use her leaky tanks, and haven't had the problem.

Even so, you'll likely experiment with different varieties of cartomizers and atomizers. Since the eGo battery accepts 510 connector type cartridges, it's as easy as unscrewing the eGo cone and screwing in a carto. There are various styles of cartomizers, and your mileage may vary. I currently use the eGo tank/atty, Boge 510 standard resistance and low resistance cartos, the Mega eGo Dual Coil cartos, and (soon) the Sapphire cartos.

The first thing you'll like, regardless of the eGo, GoGo, Echo, or whatever model, is the extended battery life and capacity. The standard eGo 650mah battery will generally last you all day. Then, it's a matter of sampling - trying new juice flavors and cartomizers/atomizers. I'm a month into my vaping experience, and still am sampling. It's a matter of finding out what works (and tastes) best to you. And the discovery can be fun.

Glad to see you kicking the analogs! Great job, and good luck on your journey!

I originally purchased the eGo - T, after a month of use ( and yes it worked and got me off of cigarettes ) I ended up switching to the eGo with the type B LR cylinder atomizers and type B mega cartridges which is what I have used ever sense.

The tank works... but is problematic sometimes, and the larger cylinder atomizers and cartridges give fantastic hits and just work better.

For new folks that want something that works I am actually recommending the standard eGo ( you can always try the Type B stuff later ) you can get these kits fairly inexpensive and several places.

I am currently not recommending the tank... but that is just an opinion.... take anything that anyone says with a grain of salt.

I will say that the eGo tank got me off of cigarettes.

Personally I would go with 510... because it is more standard... but again.. that is just my opinion.

To answer only the questions you ask:
The Ego and the Ego tank are the SAME. The other brands are generally not compatable with the eGo tank system TOPS(attys).
It has to do with a center pin, which CAN be modified.

I have 3 different types of what you are looking at. I have 2 regular eGo's, one Ego T 1000mAh battery, and 2 Riva's(an eGo knock off that did well on its own merits). So what I suggest is start with the eGo T- it will work for all your eGo equipment- you can use regular and LR cartos and attys on it. You can use the tank system on it, and you can modify it if you wish- I dont see why though, as there is an eGo VV and VV ego passthrough already. SO! You should have 2 batteries, preferably 3. One to use, one as a spare, and one to keep at work or someplace you might be able to get to it if you forget or lose one of the others.
You should order a kit, it is cheaper. It will likely come with attys and cartridges. You can try them, but I feel they are a PITA. I use mine for dripping and sampling flavors.
I suggest starting with cartos. They are easier to use, and you can pre-fill them to be ready for use the next day, or when you are away from your base for any length of time. There are all types of cartos, low and standard range, mega, xl, metal, ceramic and clear.....Order different types until you find what YOU like. When you get cartos down to a science, you might then want to move into the attys and other options(tanks!).
I hope this helps and is clear.

An alternative to eGo, often at a better price point, is the Riva 510. Liberty flights (LF) has excellent prices (at least in the US, with their discount code), and an active ECF Suppliers forum area here; I'm pretty sure they have a thread specific to using some of the tank systems with Riva. LF has UK presence (that's their home location), worth seeing what their prices are like.

As SF said, personally I'd suggest going with a Riva standard kit plus a pack of Boge 2 ohm (low resistance) cartomizers. The base Riva Lite kit includes two batteries, charger, a couple of atomizers and carts; add the Boge blank cartomizers and you can try both things, see which you want to pursue further. Don't forget to pick up some eliquid, a couple of different strengths.

Good luck!

First of all I would like to thank you for all your quick comments given.

I guess if I order the normal ego=
Eliquid Small bottles with great flavor PG and VG base
and order the tank with it=
Eliquid Small bottles with great flavor PG and VG base

Then I will have both systems.
I understand now I can use all sorts of systems whether it will be auto battery's, manuals, carts or carto's and tanks and different mods all with the same base.
That is what I was looking for.

So I will need some carts like:
Eliquid Small bottles with great flavor PG and VG base
and
Eliquid Small bottles with great flavor PG and VG base

So if I am right and order 2x the tank I have 2 atty's for the tank system in spare, but what extra atty's will I be needing for the normal ego?
I find either 510 and 910 atty's. do they all work on the ego, and what are the differences?
Btw does anyone find normal atty's or carto's on the site given?

I would definitely order some cartomizers (cart & atty). That way if you have issues with the tank leaking you'll have a backup system to use.

I would never recommend tanks to someone new. They need to be cleaned. The wick my need to be adjusted and it's microscopic. The atty is usually full of primer and you'll need to get rid of the primer. Sometimes there are issues when you puncture a tank. It's not a bad system overall, but you have to tinker with it to get it to work properly. If you're willing to do that, fine. If your the type of person that wants to throw something across the room when it doesn't work (me) hold off on the tank until you've been vaping longer.

Edit: it seems they only sell tanks on this site, they don't sell blank 510 cartomizers.

If you get attys you can expect to blow a few during the learning curve. At first you may not want good ones, just cause you know your going to blow them. Then try the better ones.

There is one difference between eGo regular and eGo T I forgot to mention: Ego T has a 5 click turn off system, so it will not discharge the battery accidentally. Riva does nothave this feature yet- or at least the one I bought 3 weeks ago from Liberty Flights did not....

Not to cheap but I think I will have enough for a couple of months now:p

quick question.

Can I connect those normal ego atty's to the ego-T battery without the cone where the atty normally sits in?

You can... they say the cone helps it vape better... don't remember why. I have used mine minus the cone on cartos the cone won't fit over and haven't really noticed the difference... then again they were dual coil so that may be why... in any case the cone is not an absolute requirement.

Basically all you need to remember is the tanks use a different atty than regular cartridges... and really not even that because cartridges blow... just use a cartomizer instead.

I started with the ego-t about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Recently I got 5 of these eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer

To me it was almost like night and day. In my opinion the dual coil cartomizer is leaps and bounds better than the ego-t. Ordering from the States took about 8 or 10 days for me (in Germany).

If I could do it all over again, I'd get several normal atomizers for dripping to test liquids. I'd also get 5 or 10 eMDCC's with a 2 or 3 ego batteries. Plus a bunch of liquids (finding the liquids you like is the hardest part).

Once you find a liquid that you still like after 5 or 10 puffs, fill up one of your MDCC's and you're good to go all day at least.

I've got 4 ego batteries and 5 EMDCC's. 2 of my cartomizers are still unopened and 3 have the flavors that I like the best. When I go to work I take 2 fresh batteries and always take an RY4 and alternate between a polar mint and a cinnamon pear carto. I top them off about every other day.

I'm one of those geeks who likes colorful PVs, so currently I'm using a 1000mAh eGo battery (which are available in a variety of colors) - you can get them pretty cheap from GoodProphets. I'm using the 510 dual coil cartos from madvapes and they definitely ROCK.

If you don't care what color battery you're using, then go with the kit suggested by Iffy. Seriously, the cartos are awesome.
