Hi All,

I am going to try e-cigs in an attempt to quit. I have read this forum for hours and am a little overwhelmed. I have decided on the JOYE510 and will order the starter kit from Rocky Mtn Vapor. It includes:

Joye510 mini electronic cigarette starter kit
Matte Black
2 atomizers
2 manual batteries
Orange LED

Including
2 x White atomizer(2-hole)
2 x Rechargeable White Manual-switch Lithium battery red LED
1 x 100-240V AC charger(US Plug)
1 x Manual
5 x Standard cartridges (no substituting)
marboro flavor, 2 high, 1 med, 1 low, 1 none

Please tell me what else I should get in addition to the starter kit to help insure success.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, good choice on a first e-cig kit.

I would recommend a personal charging case (PCC) for recharging your batteries when you're out on the town -- it's pretty much a necessity with a 510. That and a bottle of e-liquid in whatever flavor sounds good to you should set you up for a while. Those cartridges will run out fast, and you'll want to refill them.

Agreed more juice and more carts(or polyfil) you'll use 1-3 carts worth of juice a day

You're going to need some juice/eliquid, because when your cartridges run out you need to refill them and if you have no juice then cigarettes become pretty tempting.

Otherwise you have a good starter kit - two batteries are essential depending on how much you smoked.

A passthru is not a 'need' but in some cases - over a pack/day smoker and you're at a computer or watching tv, driving, is a 'nice to have' item. It has a usb hookup, an inline battery that is separate from the ecig and there is no need to recharge a battery in the sense of the regular ecig battery. You can get a wall plug and a cigarette lighter plug with a usb outlet to run the passthru at a chair away from the computer or in the car.

Having few extra atomizers is a good idea - I rotate mine out every 2 or 3 days to clean them. Another battery is also a good addition because if one goes out completely, then you'll have to wait on the recharging of just the one before vaping again - another possible 'invitation' for a cigarette. (again, depends on how much you smoke) That said, as long as you are vaping, having an 'emergency cigarette' wouldn't be the same as having a cigarette when you were attempting to quit - which from what I gather (I didn't try to quit cigarettes) that one smoke is sometimes all it take to start back up.

I second Annastasia's recommendation on a PCC. I get 5 ecig charges out of mine before having to recharge the internal battery. And to repeat someone here - don't leave home without it :)

Get two bottles of liquid and order more when the first one runs out. Get at least one more atomizer than what comes in the starter kit, when the first one dies or you noob it to death (as I did I think) order more.

Get a USB charger and a USB passthru, the usb charger so you can have at least two batteries charging at all times and the passthru so you don't need to fiddle around with batteries at all while you're in front of your computer (or in the car). You're probably going to want a third battery if you're afk for more than half an hour at a time. If you are often away from power sources that you can plug a usb adapter into then you're probably going to want one of those PCC doohickeys.

Other than the PCC I ended up ordering all that stuff before my first week was up and I would have preferred to have it all in one shipment before I knew I needed it rather than after.

This helped me...don't rush!

I read up here before ordering, then ordered a starter set and based on my reading 2 bottles of medium strength juice. I was aware there would be a learning curve, but with all these folks lovin it, it would be workable, so when my first order arrived I charged up batts, and waited until I had some open time to play with it. Then I ordered again for back-up supplies: parts and more juice. THEN, I spent two days switching off between my last pack and my new cig. That was 7 weeks ago and everything still going smooth.

Thanks for the help!

One more question, I have been looking for very low to 0 mgs cartridges and can't seem to find them. Any ideas?

wv2win recommended against the cartridges but if you must, I ran into this today on a search - I can't vouch for them - never ordered - but they seem to have quite a selection - no mention on availability though...

Cartridges

There's nic free and the low in Janty-speak means 6mg.

If you order from there, report back - I might actually be interested for a friend that needs carts vs. juice.

You do mean 'flavored' right? Because you can by blank carts almost anywhere.

Okay see this is where I am confused I think. I am trying to quit so I would like to step down and eventually get to no nic.

How do I do that?

Sorry if that's a dumb question. There is alot of info on here and it can get confusing to someone who has no experience with these.

No. Not a dumb question at all. You mentioned low or no nic cartridges and it's just that prefilled cartridges are not all that good for continuing. You can reuse those cartridges or buy blank cartridges and fill them with eliquid/juice you buy in bottles - much cheaper than buying the premade cartridges. And, yes, you can get low nic juice and even .... let's see.... there was just a thread on that here.... anyway you can get no nic juice from various places. Try dietsmokes.com or just go here:

Below Zero Liquid 10ml - Below Zero Liquids .com

... it's the same company.

Hope that helps.

Thank You! Now I just but the empty cartridges and fill right?

Thanks so much for you help.

You will get some cartridges with your kit - marlboro - hi, med, etc. and no nic. They will still have the marlboro flavor but if you don't want any high for example, take the filling out of that cartridge - it should be marked and put it in everclear or vodka and soak it out and dry it - maybe twice and replace it into the mouthpiece and fill it with juice from the bottle when you get that. That will work but when you order juice or some other parts, just order some blank cartridges along with it. I've seen them for a $1 for 5 of them and you can get 50 blank cartridges really cheap at eastmall or ruyandirect... but you can reuse the cartridges you will have over and over. And clean them. Eventually you'll toss them, esp if you've had a strong flavor and can't get rid of it no matter how many rinses.
