What exactly is RY4?

Go to any locally owned mom and pop hole in the wall Mexican, you know, the kind where they sell actual Mexican food. At the front counter where you pay for your meal they will most likely have a delicious confection called milk candy for sale. That, to me is what RY4 tastes like.
I agree to a point, but, still, there's "something" no one seems to be able to get a lock on...to me, this "something" is at the finish...in the final second ot two after the exhale.
Overall, not a strong flavor, but I think we'll all agree it IS a complex flavor.

My husband and I got this in a sampler pack and though it was raspberryish, though we felt that there was more to it then just that. All the different answers are funny, but I must agree it is awesome!
I just received some today and don't much like it. It's almost flavorless to me but what flavor there is is just bad. I can't explain it.
I also got some 555 and not to be too raunchy but it totally tastes like vomit. I seriously felt like I was going to be sick in response. It was so bad after just two drops on the atty that even after doing several rounds of drops of my fav JC Tennessee Cured I couldn't get rid of the vomit taste. I finally broke out a brand new atty. How am I going to get that taste of my one week old atty!!!
I also got 8 other flavors from V4L and I dripped each of them. There is some underlying taste that I don't like but now I can't be sure if it was a specific one. I need to try each of them for a day and see how it goes.

Interesting thread, didnt realize RY4 was so controversial, heh. Got some 48mg RY4 from myfreedomsmokes the other day and its still my favorite. I cut it down with VG 1/3 to 1/4 or more depending on mood. To me it tastes like a Marlboro hit but with a sweet Caramel aftertaste. Just my opinion, also, I was a Camel smoker not Marlboro, so that was just the only thing I could think of to compare, I really meant a milder tobacco taste I guess.

For anyone that hasn't tried Janty RY4, I highly suggest it just to see how different than can be from ruyan#4 from Dekang. It's unique but still a love/hate flavor with the majority here siding on love.
I'll have to try it again but maybe it is a licorice taste. I don't really like licorice either.

If my own RY4 didn't get different responses from different people I know, I'd start to think that RY4 is just some random concoction made by suppliers. But the flavors seem consistent (few extremely different disagreements) with most people.
As I've never dug my teeth into a sugar cane and sucked out its juices, I don't think I can agree/disagree with that. Who knows, this might even be the most accurate and objective description out there.

Are there known differences between these liquids? I'm using some from myfreedomsmokes. I'm not exactly sure if it's a re-branded dekang/ruyan juice or if its their own recipe either, so I can't really say if it's "true" RY4 or not. The fact that I can see where most (not all) of these flavor ideas that other people say is reassuring though. I might have to check out these other RY4's, but I don't want to order the same thing if I have it already.
Dulce de Leche? That's a good one. I haven't seen many flavors for that, but it's a pretty common flavor for things like ice cream. It would make sense for it to have been added to e-juice. I taste this more(very light caramel, hint of vanilla, and a mild berry) if I inhale to my palette, then exhale through my mouth, but when I inhale it more or keep it there, it tastes more like fruity bubblegum/cotton candy.
My new theory: RY4 is an attempt at dulce de leche, not perfect, but also mixed with some other flavor(s) that still no one can pinpoint.

Kent C, I'd like to know what difference you taste/smell between the Janty RY4 and the Ruyan #4 from Dekang. When I got my Janty Stick, the RY4 was in the 5 carts, and was sooooooo bad I washed them all out. How do you think the flavor of Ruyan #4 is different?

We're on the same wavelength or something...I was thinking the same thing after trying MFS's RY4 I received today.
Definitely anise...
