What flavor was your first tobacco cigarette?

  • Regular tobacco (e.g., Marlboro, Winston)

  • Menthol tobacco (e.g., Salem, Kool)

  • Clove

  • Fruit (e.g., cherry, strawberry, peach)

  • Chocolate

Wow - somebody just reported that they smoked a chocolate-flavored tobacco cigarettes as their first. I didn't even know such a thing existed. All the while I smoked tobacco (45 years) the only flavors I ever smoked were regular and menthol (didn't care much for it).

I'm sure it was someone poking fun at the thinly veiled point you were trying to make with your poll.

First 2 cigs i ever tried were marb lights, then when i got hooked (age 12) and started smoking by the pack it was all marb reds and camel full flavors.

I never even heard of a clove, let alone tried one, til i was at least 17 or so (and i didn't like them anyways :p). I had always heard rumors of cherry flavored cigs and the like, but to this day i have never actually SEEN one (not counting cigars and cigarillos of course, but i was never a cigar fan even with the flavors).

Its hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that candy flavored cigarettes are what get kids hooked, when the flavored ones are so scarce and the same number of kids are still getting hooked....

Ya know, when I was in jr high we lived in the country and on fridays the bus would stop at one of the little country stores on the way home. Anyone who had money could go inside the store and buy candy or whatever. That store had a cigarette machine and the bus driver would let us buy cigs out of the machine. Can you believe that? Thank you Mr. Howard (i think)

When I was 16, my driving instructor primarily focused on teaching me how to drive and smoke at the same time! Maybe thats why I cant drive so good, but could smoke without taking my eyes off the road. ;)

I think a lot of kids started on whatever yummy flavor they could sneak from their parents. For me that was vantage. Luckily, that cartoon camel was so appealing to tough 13 year old boys who wanted to look cool and feel grown up.

BTW I was thinking about how yummy flavors only appeal to kids today when I stopped at the store and had to search through a dozen yummy fruity flavors to find the bottle of vodka flavored vodka (thats the flavor I like because I am mature).

Started with Kools that I slipped from my dads pack.

Me too. I smoked my dad's Kools for a while - snagged em' when he wasn't looking. So when I started smoking I went for Newports. I smoked those for years and a gal pal turned me on to Parliament Lights. To this day P-funks or menthols are all I can smoke. Hubby's Marlboro Reds kill me...in more ways than one.

I've actually tried two different chocolate flavored cigarettes. They were hard to find and expensive. Camel's Blackjack Gin were also very good. Kind of makes me want to mix a little gin in to see what that would do. If I had any gin. Or drank. The Kool Moca's were really good but I only found them once...

The e-liquids that sold me were menthol and cola (both from bestecig and best I've found yet). The menthol was so clean and crisp. NOTHING like a cigarette. And the cola just opened my eyes to the world of flavor. If an e-cig can taste like Coca Cola, it can taste like anything!

Now I get my chocolate from heaven-gifts. It tastes like Nestle's Quik (seriously). Might make a good DIY with a little creme de menthe.
