General consensus... bakery and creams need some, and tobaccos benefit greatly as well.
How long is very subjective and depends on the flavors and complexity of the recipe.

The main category that works as "shake & vape" is plain fruits. But I also mix basic fruit creams that are good to go right away. YMMV.

you will get mixed results using different companys, %'s vary and many are better at certain flavors I found FA and have not had a bad flavor from them yet , But TFA,FW,Cappella,Hanson, INW, all have their specialtys, I would say TFA for all around, Cappela for custards, Hansons for tobbacos, INW for most fruits, And FW so a few odd ones. the more you get to experiment with the better the final batch will be. If your intersted in tobbaco check out Hanson and Inw reviews, and don't forget some of the additives to make them really shine. many times I mix a few companys to get the taste I want.

I've been steeping as follows:

fruits and candies = 0-1 week for natural or 0-1 hour heat steeping
Deserts and creams = 2-4 weeks for natural steeping or 2-4 hours heat steeping
Tobaccos = 2-5 weeks for natural steeping or 2-5 hours heat steeping

This works well for me.
