I bought a bottle of FA's Cuban Supreme a couple months ago. I ended up adding it to all of my tobacco mixes because of the authentic tobacco taste. Of course, this resulted in me needing to replenish my supply.

I did so, but the new batch smells and tastes nothing like the original bottle. It's good stuff, but it's nothing like the authentic cigar smell and taste that I remember. It's also much clearer.

Are there any other Cuban fans out there that noticed anything similar recently (or not-so recently - I have no idea how old my original batch was before it was shipped to me)?

I'm hoping it's just a glitch, Hoosier. What color is your remaining 60mls? My original bottle was almost as dark as Virginia. These new bottles (they split my order into 2 smaller bottles) have only a very light tannish tint to them.

I've spent a lot of time perfecting my tobacco mixes and I'd hate to think I'll have to continually rework them with each back-fill. Like I said though, it's definitely a nice flavor - just not the Cuban I've come to rely on so heavily.

ETA: I'll post a picture of one of the new bottles tonight.

You might want to contact the supplier. Some juices require aging since they have just been mixed prior to shipping. A week or two in a dark place is a good thing for new juices. Some of us order ahead and age juices prior to use. They darken with aging. It could be that you got some fresh juice. I've had some that were yellow and changed to deep orange after a week or two.

Thanks, Dave, but I'm referring to the FlavourArt flavoring, not a mixed juice. In my experience, flavorings do not change color until mixed with nicotine. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

Oops, sorry. I thought you were talking about a juice supplier. FA ( Flavourart) didn't click. I use Lorann's.

No worries. I just put in a ticket with the supplier. I hope they can provide some insight. It could very well be that this flavoring is just very "hot off the press" and does in fact need to mellow for a bit.

Hmmm, going from memory here, but my Cuban is nearly the same tint as Virginia, but has a very slight green hue that makes appear slightly lighter.

(I keep them in two different types of bottles as I use both often and once mixed them up in a recipe.)

My GF says I'm color blind though so you may not want to trust my version of colors.

The vendor got back to me, but weren't of much immediate help (very responsive though). They did indicate that FA has, on occasion, changed recipes without notification. They'll be contacting FA this week and will get back to me.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo, but it should give you an idea what I'm seeing. The bottle on the right is Virginia, which Hoosier and I agree is a much closer color to what we're used to seeing in Cuban Supreme. The bottle on the left is one of my new bottles of Cuban.

It also just occurred to me what the new flavor smells like: White Spiced Gumdrops! You know the ones - slightly menthol, slightly anisette. I'll make up a mix at 5% tonight and see what I think.

I have a bottle of FA Vanilla Classic flavoring that started off clear and has progressed to a pleasing amber color...:)

Yeah, my Cuban is closer to Virginia than that. Doesn't smell like white spice drops either.

I do like white spice drops though...

I really hope it is some kind of mix-up. I know I ordered FA Caramel Flavor from a vendor once and got FA Caramel (burnt sugar suspended in PG which smells pretty close, but is completely different.)

I'd really hate to think that Max has screwed around with the Cuban flavor. That is just too much to handle...

I remember hearing a rumor a while back that FA was going to start making their Vape Heaven line clearer. It's possible this is a result of that.

I made a mix at 5% last night (20mg). As of this morning, the juice is still completely clear, where most of my clear-ish FA mixes begin to show at least slight signs of darkening after that long.

Just vaped the bare Cuban mix. Let's just say I'm ....... Looks like I'll be looking to TPA for tobacco bases on my next order. Any suggestions? Note that I'm not a fan of leaving rings in my bottles.

Also, I took a good whiff of the new Virginia bottle tonight. It smells like plate full of sushi condiments...ginger, soy, wasabi. Grrrr.

Ya' know, I can believe that Max would tweak a recipe, but I have trouble believing he would make such wholesale changes to the tobaccos.

Would you mind sharing the vendor's name?

I have to get some more FA next month and I want to avoid the same shop you just used. (Maybe another shop will have the old versions, or maybe they won't have the labels mixed up or whatever happened to yours.)

I'd be more than ...... if the huge differences you have there are what I get too. As getting a good tobacco mix is not the easiest thing to do in the first place and the thought of starting all over is completely unacceptable!

I really hope it was a label mix up, but I won't be taking the chance any time soon. I'll be going right to TPA for my next order. PM Sent.
