Ok, I have to admit to my bias right up front: I never got the "best thing since sliced cheese" praise thrown on cartomizers and all the veterans telling noobs to immediately dump carts and order this, that or the other carto. I held off for the first two months before trying them. And I'm less than impressed. IMO cartos feel and taste like "vaping lite", at best. Lotto vapor, far less TH and a lot less flavor. But that's not what I'm writing about.
What I'm writing about is: Only used one of these Joye 510 cartos for two days. It was performing as expected (Oops, not gonna go there right now...) until with the very next vape it was closed up like a straw in a McDonald's frozen ice cream beverage. The
thing is completely closed off! No air, no vapor - nothing is passing through it at all.
Not having anything to lose I worked the plastic cart off the atty. The atty is still drawing air through just fine. (And still works too.) But the plastic cart? You could suck on it until cross-eyed and no air at all is getting through it. I can work out "this is the chamber part that holds the poly", "this is the section up the side that air should be flowing through..." That air chamber is completely blocked at the atty end.
I don't know what a normal Joye 510 carto is supposed to look like there. This one looks like it's now blocked with the same material that comes in the needle filling port. Except it seems to be impossible to open it. No amount of poking down that chamber with a paper clip is getting through the blockage.
What happened? Did the air chamber melt itself closed? If it did I'm not seeing any obvious evidence of it. The plastic cart isn't misshapen, doesn't look melted etc. But if I should be able to get a paper clip straight through the air chamber from the "sucking on" end to the atty end - ain't happening.
So now I have a working atty from a Joye 510 cartomizer, and - oddly enough - a dud cartidge to go with it. Is there any way to fix this one?
