Reonauts and Reosmods are still around. Rob decided to slow things down a bit so he closed the forum, it's still available in the archives. We have a couple of hangouts now, here's one: The Reonauts new lounge. There's also one for technical help if you need it.

You can order mods and parts from the website. I will be sending one to his spa soon too. We're alive and kicking!

Just wanted to say, that I have never used or seen a Reo in real life. However, if I knew back in the day what I know now with the upcoming FDA regulations, I would have bought a Reo. A Reo mod and a Reomizer RDA is the perfect setup someone who doesn't want to carry a juice bottle around everywhere with them and wants to be prepared for the vape apocolypse.

I had a couple back in the day, wish I kept them, thinking of ordering one for backup for the very reason you mention...

Rob explained it in his forum, here: Closing the forum (Unfortunately archived stuff isn't readily accessed by the search function.)

There were several personal reasons why he decided to close the forum, but that doesn't mean Rob is out of the business of making Reos. As per always - if you have any questions or are looking for something that doesn't show on the web site just give him a call or send an e-mail.

When do the new FDA regulations begin to be enforced?

You really need to get caught up. What is going on has several different starting dates, layered on top of State by State legislation that is independent of the federal regulations. ~> FDA Regulations

You can still buy REOs. Rob is still very much in business. He just wanted to scale back a bit. The online shop is still open and doing well. He just decided not to renew his subscription for his ECF Vendors' forum.

I don't think I understand this:

“Manufacturers that do not have FDA approval to sell an e-cigarette or e-liquid after August 10th 2018 will not be legally allowed to continue selling the product. No new vaping products or e-liquids will be allowed on the market after August 2016 unless the manufacturer applies for and obtains FDA approval to sell that product.”

My question is, if you currently manufacture and sell an e-cigarette device like a Reo can you continue to manufacture and sell it until August 10th 2018 or until August 2016?

If you've sold it before August 2016, you can continue selling it until August 2018. If you've not sold it before August 2016, then you can't sell it at all.

Is it the same for nicotine solution for DIY juice?
Not sure, I've heard there are different rules regarding liquid, but I think it's mostly referring to flavored, ready-to-vape e-juice. I'm tempted to buy another liter of 100mg anyway, just in case. I've got 360ml squirreled away already and by my calculations, at my current or even foreseeable future consumption rate, it should last me 2-4 years. A liter would give me three times that much again, which I figure ought to be plenty enough time to find another source, or even wean off the nicotine if worse comes to worst.

When I first heard about this whole FDA thing I got freaked out and bought two liters of 100 mg/ml and was planning to buy a third Reo and have my old ones reworked. At least now I know I have some time for the hardware.

The way the regulations are written, it is confusing as all hell. Intentionally is my guess. There are lawyers that are working on things so the fight is not over. The best advice I can give you is to join CASAA, write your reps, get involved. The more voices we have, the louder and harder it is to shut us down.

Bwh, above, spelled it out as perfect as we can understand it all. This is the way we are understanding it.

The deeming regulations are utterly atrocious. I think they are so badly written, we do stand a chance in a court of law.

Make sure you have some extra parts on hand, like firing pins, tubes, bottles, springs and spring screws, and you should be good for years. There's not much on a REO that isn't user serviceable. If you can't fix it, Rob can, and he's still very much in business. Hardware parts for atomizers, like screws and o rings, will always be available, regardless what happens. With a few REOs, a few good atomizers, if you can build coils, and DIY juice, you're pretty self sufficient.
