Great post Max..very informative regarding your Janty experience.
I rec'd my KB extended kit yesterday (with all the kit components included) and should clarify right from the get-go this is my First e-cig. So not only do I have no previous experience with Janty or their products...I have no previous e-cig experiences Period!
I was lucky enuf to receive all the advertised items with my kit, so I was able to start using it after the 1hr. USB Battery conditioning cycle.
First couple of Puffs on this sucker 'bout had me coughin' my head off! I wasn't ready for so much Freekin Vapor! Quickly figured out that I could not toke on this e-cig the same way I've been toking on my Light 100's for the past 25yrs.
This KB requires a small fraction of the pressure and velocity that I'm accustomed to with analogs. After a few hours I was able to use it comfortably. I feel as I am generating as much, or more vapor than the amount of smoke I generated w/Analogs.
I find the Manual switch allows me much easier control of the amount of vapor...hit the switch a second prior to inhaling and release it a second before I stop inhaling seems to work best for me.
I agree with your impression of the tapered mouthpiece, but I'm getting used to it. The lack of the LED was one reason I wanted this model. I wanted to start with a model that did not resemble an analog at all, As i hope this may expand my horizons a bit.. as to where I might be allowed to use it in public while minimizing confusion as to it being an analog.
I received 4 different flavored carts with my kit (unfortunately, not the 4 I ordered) RY3, RY4, TAB and Cappucinno all 16mgs. Haven't rec'd an email response yet from Jeff to determine why I didnt get the other two flavors that I did order.
Probably just me and my non-existant taste buds...but I can only detect slight differences between any of the flavors mentioned above. Maybe I'm still assimilating to the flavor of the PG base, as what I primarily taste.
As a person who has a 1 1/2-2 pack/Day analog habit using M***boro or B**ics light 100's, I am very suprised how long these KB carts are lasting me. Over a 23hr period I've comsumed almost 2 carts...which would indicate about 1:1 Cart/Pack ratio for me which is Better than I anticipated. (your mileage may vary)
I wonder if this Manual switch would work out for you bikers. It seems that it would to me...maybe get a fitted leather pouch on a chain to hang 'round yer neck while riding...If pouch were fitted to keep the switch aligned with a hole to activate it while riding you'd be all set...maybe.
Hell, I've got access to scraps of upholsery leather and wife has a heavy duty leather sewing machine.... I'll see what she thinks and let yall know if she comes up with something for ya to try out.
On the whole...I'm very impressed with the build quality so far (glad to see they took Dustys" recomendation to heart and got the atomizer alignment issue resolved...perfect alignment on mine) and hope I find no issues with the KB Batteries. ie. Dura-c issues.
I do have a few questions that I'm sure someone here can answer (Ahem..Max, Kate, Rita, TB?..anyone?)...
1. What is the standard amount of juice Janty charges the KB carts with?
actually looking for the avg. number ml. found in retail Janty KB carts
2. What are the Cleanest alternate Juices available? Juices known to have the least amount of residue remaining that may potentialy fowl an atomizer.
3, Is the suggested vertical overnight draining of the atomizers sufficient for keeping them clean/working? If not, what methods are proven to work for your KB atomizers?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you care to share.
Mike
P.S. Did a forum search for "Janty KB" and Max's (#38) post was atop the window. Just assumed he started a thread about Janty KB and this was correct location to post. I apologize if I side tracked the thread.
