It's back up; remember your sig is linked to his server in Australia. When it goes down, so does your sig unless you capture it as a fixed image. But then you lose the analog and cost tracking of course.

I forgot about this bit of info. I didn't think about the server being down. Thx for the reminder. I still cannot see either of your sig banners. Maybe tomorrow? :)

Many times when you find yourself not seeing what everyone else can see...it usually means there is a DNS error. A DNS server for your area might have a bad address in it's list. This problem is self-correcting when the DNS refreshes. If it is only happening on one computer...then it could be a firewall not liking something about the source address. In any case, the sig site is working...so the problem is on your end....somewhere. ;)

Ok, maybe it is a DNS error somehow. I used to see the banners while browsing on my iPhone until last night. I thought maybe it was my phone. But, while at work today on my lap, I noticed I wasn't seeing the banners; thought it was the internet at work. Now I'm home and still not seeing the banners on hubby's lap. Hmm. Could be AT&T? But, I can see the St Patty's banner I just put up. Can you see it too?

I don't think his server is in Austrailia. He lives just north of Dallas, TX.

I could be wrong, but whois reports that slavetothemachine.net is registered to godaddy.

OK...you can get to the server using just the IP address, but not the domain name. Still looks like a DNS issue. DNS error propagation can take anywhere from 1 to 48 hours to resolve itself. If you can't see the sigs in a day or so...call your ISP, give them the domain name (slavetothemachine.net) and tell them their DNS is pooched. ;)

Gotcha! Thank you, thank you. Much appreciated for your help in diagnosing this little nuisance. :):):)

Sorry my bad, I just remembered the Australia continent and flag on DaShiVa's avatar. My sig was off earlier today and when I went to the URL, the page would not load. I automatically assumed the host server was down, but it probably was a DNS error since others were unaffected; my sig was back up at 4:30 CST, only down during the day today and nothing has changed with my DNS servers to my knowledge.

Thanks VTech. I'll have to try that tomorrow (in bed with iPhone; addicted to technology). Are there any risks with running that code? Will anything have to be reinstalled/reconfigured? We're on a wireless router if that would have any importance.

It should have little to no impact on any networking services you are running.
It's a standard command so you should be fine. I use it a lot :)
I'm addicted to and just got a PALM Pre Plus. It's awesome. :)
