The cop would definitely be enjoying his long stay inside a 5x8 box with bars if it was me that he did that to. What bull:censored:t!!!

A friend from high school flipped a cop off. This was back in the 80's. Got arrested and spent a week in jail. Her family sued the county over it (Dad was a lawyer). The judge agreed that her "right to freedom of self expression", had been violated. She didn't verbalize the words so there was nothing that could be done about that. She won restitution from the cop himself as well as restitution from the county sheriff's department. I thought it was funny as hell watching the cop squirm on the stand when her Dad lit into him over her ammendment rights.

I am not sure why I am so heated over watching that. It has nothing to do with me but I do have to say something else. What the hell were his friends doing just standing around? The guy was obviously taken down out of his car, there was no reason to keep hitting him after the first time. If I was standing there I would have dialed 911 and told them to come quick because I would have interjected and just left the arguing for the court room, arrested be damned.

Full disclosure. I'm a cop. I don't work the streets at the moment, but I have in the past.

I watched that video a couple of times and my conclusion is that it was staged. Look again around the 25 second mark when the "cop" is striking the suspect who is out of view of the camera. You can see the suspect's foot sticking up in the air and it appears the asp is striking the pavement between his legs. It also sounds that way, since you can hear the asp striking the pavement. An asp striking a human body doesn't make anywhere near enough sound to be recorded at that range and under those conditions.

Also, look towards the end of the video when the "cop" is escorting the suspect towards the gas station. I didn't see any sort of radio, microphone, or microphone cord anywhere on his person. No cop on the street is without a portable radio.

There are other clues too, but I won't belabor the point.

If it were a real assault perpetrated by a real police officer, I'd be calling for his criminal prosecution just the same as any sensible person. We're not above the law.
