I started reading this thread and came across several terms I wasn't familiar with. What is "cloud chasing"? What is "squonking"? snork wrote..."I'm of the belief that Aroma ejuices fare best at a maximum of 15 watts." Am I a wimp or what? I can't vape higher than 6.5-7 watts without it tasting burnt on my Vamo topped with an Evod. Am I missing something here?

LOL, you need to get out more Urge (-;

Cloud Chasing - The pursuit of ginormous vapor exhalations. I offer no opinions on said pursuit.

Squonk - The term used to describe the act of pushing on the liquid bottle of a bottom feeding device to move liquid from said bottle up into the atomizer.
Generally associated with the Reo, IIRC term was coined by a Reonaut.

Snork is just hardcore!
Dependent of course on device and liquid used, 6 to 8 watts is where I tend to stay.

Can't say if you're a wimp or not, but vaping no higher than 6.5-7.0 certainly doesn't prove it. :) Most of my juices I tend to vape at around 8 watts -- like you, at higher power I find they start tasting burnt and lose some of the subtle notes. (How well done do you like your steak and eggs?) A lot depends both on the particular juice, and -- despite the conventional wisdom that a watt is a watt no matter watt... er, no matter what -- I think one's setup does indeed make a big difference: 8 watts on a Cisco HH.357 vapes like 12 (or some significantly higher number) on on my Aerotanks, for example. I wouldn't give it a never mind -- vape it at the wattage that works for you.

A "cloud chaser" is a vaper who is looking for that setup that will let him exhale ever bigger clouds of vapor. I'd say it's part theatrics and part feedback -- yes, you really are inhaling a lot of vapor. (As an experiment, try vaping with your eyes closed. It's an experience different enough to cause one to take notice.)

Squonking is using a mod such as a Reo, for example (reosmods.com) that has a plastic bottle that fits within it; you squeeze the bottle to feed some drops of liquid to the atty. (Atty = atomizer; you should be able to hover your mouse over words that have a dotted line under them to get a definition. I wonder how we can get words added to the list of defined terms -- "squonk" wold be a good one to add.)

    Somewhere between here and there
    Urge, you're not a wimp. I think what snork meant was that none he tried were useable over 15 watts. I run most of my stuff between 7 and 8.5 watts depending on the device. However, the mini nautilus with a bvc coil hits real nice with Beatle Juice at around 9 watts and doesn't kill the flavor.

    for what it's worth - i never could get evods or iclears to wick fast enough to get above 6 watts/3.5v on any sort of high vg juice either.even with rebuilding them with cotton, it was like they just couldn't get enough juice to the head to keep from being burn city.

    I'm a flavor junky. I think Aroma's are fairly complex and layered. I'll also admit that my taste buds are still a bit fried. Higher wattage, for me, blunts some of those layers. (Even if every flavor is not my favorite, I appreciate the complexity). I tend to stay in the mid 7's.

    What is the BEST wattage? Whatever you enjoy vaping
