I use a Vmod with simple joyetech atty, Mad Vapes Gripper with I16's (I'll add a drop of DW to those), a handful of Spinners with Protanks, Zmax and Provari with Nautilus - all 1.8-2.0 ohms and adjust to taste without paying attention to numbers. I have a couple of iStick's coming but wish I'd held out for the Egrip. That looks like my kind of dream machine. Equip does make a difference.

Less than 10% of my vaping is stationary at home. It's gotta be portable and convienent, besides if I have a spare 5 min I'm not going to spend it on messing with mods / coils or anything else that's too much like work. Been there, done that and it didn't happen for me. High wattage stuff sounds more like "boys and their toys" to me. I can't get excited about sucking on a piece of plumbing pipe and then polishing it after every use. Not gonna happen.

In all fairness, I think 50% of my vape budget is drip tips and charms.

I still expect eliquids to taste good with ego's since that's ground zero for many. I've been very happy with the flavors from Red Tail, maybe too happy. Some have disappeared in < a weekend. The downside of tasting too good is I vape more.

I have the opposite opinion from the OP in that I expect a liquid to work with my equip vs adjusting my equip to work with a liquid.

I vape Beatle juice on my mech mod with a .7 ohm coil. Apparently that makes me hardcore because I'm pushing 19-20 watts. The Heron can handle it though.

I just ordered a ZNA 50 clone, so I guess I'll get to see what "real" high powered vaping is all about. :)

Edit: From what I understand, it has a wonky 50 watt chip in it, so I'll probably take Zen up on his offer to "upgrade" to an authentic Evolv 30 watt chip. I wanted one with 20x1 threading so I could use the Heron atomizer in hybrid mode and the authentic ZNA doesn't have 20x1 threading.

Plano, the Heron looks to be based on the same principals as the Kayfun, and except for the filler, at first blush it looks like they may have a fairly similar design. I haven't looked into it very far yet, but would you say that's more or less accurate, and if so, what, if any, are the significant differences between them? (Other than the Heron using filler.)

... living on the edge this morning and ran my vamo up to 10 watts with a mini nautilus bvc....
LOL, you daredevil you!

Low volt and watt in a dripper with the ReadyXWick is remaining the be-estest way to go for me and my Aroma liquids.
Thick, cool, flavorful, mmmm this is the vape for me (-:

Same here Hitt.

Plano, could ya do color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is?
"Alice's Restaurant Massacree" Ahhh.....I haven't heard that in decades. Funny as hell. Thanks for the memories OTD. [emoji4]

I just replaced the cat litter with 44 packages of pop rocks.......now we wait.....

That's more or less accurate, though I've never used filler in mine.

As for significant differences, there are some. GP set out to produce an atty that was as simplistic as possible, yet produced a dense, flavorful vape.

First, the atty does not have a 510 connection (though a 510 adapter is available). It was designed to thread directly into the GP PAPS mechanical mod.

Second, it is mostly a toolless setup. The tank is held on with o-rings. This is a very secure setup, and I've had no issues with the tank coming apart even though I carry two heron setups in my pockets.

To be continued...

Okay.

It is easier and quicker to refill than a Kayfun, and is also easier to adjust airflow. Wicking is easier or harder, depending on what mode you run it in. I've never done it with filler, so I can't comment on that, but in tank mode, it was a bit complicated. I learned a new wicking technique a few days ago that simplified matters considerably. I'll try to find the pictures of that build.

Is it a vast improvement over the Kayfun? No. It's just different, yet vapes more or less the same. I ordered an Erlkonigen (sp?) Clone today, and that is supposed to be an improvement over the Kayfun, with better wicking and airflow control.

so i finally got around to spending some time with the drippers, readyxwick and the new p-51.

as much as i wanted to like it, the readyxwick just isn't for me - there's a myriad of usability issues with it and the thicker juices that i could see could be overcome with some tweaking but my main issue with it is this:

t52ZQYw.png

everything i tried cutting it with produced a sizable puff of some sort of shiny substance that reminds me of a more feathery silica wick dust.the ends of it all ended up looking exactly like the pictures of the "untreated" wick that they say not to use on their website. for the cost, hassle and weird dust coming out of it, i'm out.

on the upside, the kayfun mini is great for flavor in dripper mode.

    Somewhere between here and there
I never did order any. I'm happy with just popping in a new coil when needed and I buy the prewound coils for my igo L for pennies each. To me it's just not worth the hassle right now. The kids keep us pretty busy and any free time is better off free.

Sorry to see ya havin' trouble with the RXW gutter.
I use a pair of small dikes to cut mine. I get a good clean cut, both straight across and at an angle, with no unraveling.
I've read of others having similar issues with cutting, most responses are to use something like the dikes, sharp and the cutting edges meet rather than scissor.

As for the particles....... I know that comes down to a personal comfort level.
Cut dry silica and you'll get similar particles. Once wet, I can't see where any solids large enough to cause irritation will actually travel in the vapor.

Ehh- it's no biggie. You never know if you're gonna like things unless you try them first, right?
The particle thing is a big reason why I don't use silica either- although,I still haven't used hemp or ekowool after all these years. I may mess with them as well just out of curiosity as I can see the potential benefits over cotton in the drippers.

    No. Cal.
I fiddled a bit with the Ready Wick but am going to need to build slightly smaller coils (my default is a 16 g blunt) to give it the best shot. The smallest size that I purchased was just a tad too small. Like Gutter, I like checking out new stuff, it's part of the fun of this hobby. If it doesn't work for me, I know some old feller that might love it....

Gutter, I finally played with the KFL mini. IMHO, it does the same great job as the the KFL plus in terms of flavor. What I dout care for is its length. Holy moley, it's darn near as long as the sleek little 13500 Simplicity that I use when I need a tiny discreet mod. Kind of defeats the purpose. Then for kicks I put it on my ProVari and WorkHorse and got a giggle. Was also kind of weird filling it from the top because the fill hole is pretty crummy (darn clone).

So I'm back to my standard KFL + and P-38 WTA. Easy breezy. Change cotton. Once a week. Re-coil every 3 weeks-ish. Just scored another off the Classies today. Don't think I'll put any Black Clove in her as I generally need to change that wick every day. No kidding! I keep the BC in a mini Reo. Cotton is cheap and luckily it only takes about 2 minutes to fill her up with juice and fresh cotton each morning. When I was still using BC's I ran thru a ton of em!

So Plano, what do you use instead of the fluff?
