What hardware are you using to get the best out of your aroma juice ?

Gutter, I finally played with the KFL mini. IMHO, it does the same great job as the the KFL plus in terms of flavor. What I dout care for is its length. Holy moley, it's darn near as long as the sleek little 13500 Simplicity that I use when I need a tiny discreet mod. Kind of defeats the purpose. Then for kicks I put it on my ProVari and WorkHorse and got a giggle. Was also kind of weird filling it from the top because the fill hole is pretty crummy (darn clone).

So I'm back to my standard KFL + and P-38 WTA. Easy breezy. Change cotton. Once a week. Re-coil every 3 weeks-ish. Just scored another off the Classies today. Don't think I'll put any Black Clove in her as I generally need to change that wick every day. No kidding! I keep the BC in a mini Reo. Cotton is cheap and luckily it only takes about 2 minutes to fill her up with juice and fresh cotton each morning. When I was still using BC's I ran thru a ton of em!

That goofball size is why I haven't been using it - it's still as long as a full size kayfun and only holds 1/3 of the juice!!! :)

In dripper mode it's just a hair bigger than an old 510 atty though (still looks hilarious on the provari)It might actually see some use now!

Robinowitz, I don't use anything in my Heron, only cotton wicking. I run it like a Kayfun tank, no filler. If a person wanted to run it like a cartomizer, they could use GP Fluff®, that blue foam stuff, aquarium filter, or Sera wool.

Interesting! Do you prefer it to the KFL then or does it have to do with what mod you are using? Wow, you certainly heat up your BeatleJuice!! I'm curious (and willing to learn) what benefit do you get from such high wattage? (I really do want to understand....not being flip). Does the extra heat somehow mimick the warmth of an analog?

I prefer it to the Kayfuns only because of the mods I use the Herons on. I don't have to mess with adjusting screws and making sure the battery doesn't rattle.

That could be avoided by using a regulated mod, but I haven't gone that route yet. The vape is the same from both, with the Kayfun being slightly warmer than the Heron.

As for why I vape at that high of a wattage, (and that's the first time I've thought of 20 watts as "high") it is because the vapor more closely replicates that of a cigarette. Dense and warm, also the vapor production is quick; I rarely take puffs longer than 3 seconds, especially on a fresh battery. On my ProVari, I became used to taking long draws on a 2.0 ohm coil at 4.2 volts, and I did the same on mechs until I started using heavier gauge wire. Same number of wraps, same voltage, the only thing that changed was the wire size.

As for the temperature, Aroma's juices can handle it with no loss of flavor, provided you have a vaping setup that can deliver juice to the coil quickly enough. Your juice consumption will go up.

For me, higher nicotine at lesser power is best. Very efficient; in a 9 hour workday an 18650 typically drops from 4.2 down to 3.9 at 1.2 ohms. Juice is a maximum of 3ml a day even on days off. The WTA adds a great deal to this efficiency.
Unless I'm after some specific goal of proving I could win an x-sport or something, vapor's something about which I couldn't care less. The main thing has always been maintaining my nicotine (and apparently minor alkaloids) at a certain level. The more efficient and cost effective the better, which sounds hypocritical considering the...thousands of dollars of hardware I've accumulated. But it's not, it's a different thing. I'm a patron of the arts, that the Chinese have something to rip off and sell below cost to the people who think that way of doing business is acceptable.

Thanks Pan for your thoughtful explanation. I apologize for it taking so long to respond. I knew I could count on you for a clear and understandable reason for why you like higher voltage (even though it's not that high for many). I get the quickness factor for sure. Sometimes the Vape time is a bit long especially when I need to turn the steering wheel and shift gears. Luckily, I have knees :)

Shift gears?!!! Really? Wow, the only way I can shift gears these days is with the paddle shifter on my steering wheel column. (I think... I think I'm a little bit jealous. Except when I'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway.)

I had those paddle shifters on my Xbox 360 official racing wheel. Didn't care for them much.

As for the vape temperature and such, it wasn't something I started out trying for. I also checked my ohms on my current builds, and one was reading 1.2 and the other was at 1.1, so that drops the wattage down to the 15-18 watt range I reckon (off the cuff guess). :D

By golly, that's the first time I have heard the term "paddle shifter." Will google and learn more. Heading to bed now. I've always had an manual transmission vehicle. When I was 10, I first learned to drive on a 1949 army jeep. (Yes, it was old then....I believe it was in '71). Anyway, since then I've always had a stick. Just feels like I'm "driving." When I drive our van (auto), I feel as if I'm forgetting something. (But the dogs like having a van). Certainly don't run thru brakes either. Can't say I would feel the same if I had to deal with bumper to bumper traffic though:).

Still waiting for it to be restocked. That's it! No more time off for Jerry. Now where did I put those handcuffs and that chain?[emoji33]

I have Jerry handcuffed to the lab....but he has run into glitches and needs to do re-working. We know you RY4 guys are chomping at the bit for inventory. Our apologies. It has been hell of a two week period.

strangely enough, i had a bad vape day today. i don't remember the last time that's happened? everything just sucked :)

the eleaf came in today, i threw a nautilus mini on it at 5.5 watts and BAM! burned filler city.swapped out the coil just to be sure and BAM! burned insulator city. dumped the juice, pulled the whole thing apart, put it in alcohol to get the burned plastic taste out of it,threw on a drilled out kayfun with a 1.4 ohm coil in it and it was burned juice city.at this point, i'm ready to call shenanigans on the "11watts with a bvc" crowd and their tastebuds and started referring to it as the iburn......
anyway, i ended up winding a 2.4 ohm coil in the other kayfun and threw it on there and it seems to have cooled it off enough to get some range out of it.it's sitting a hair under 7 watts but still seems like the flavor is lacking.
eye reckun, ima need sum mora fidlin an testin....

Set my istick to 3.0 volts gutter.
Both heads tried so far, 1.8ohm BDC and BVC, are fine at that point.
Tthat whole RMS vs Mean average or whatever.... 3v on the stick is equivalent to what I'm used to getting with 4v on any other battery.

thanks man - that's what i eventually surmised. i was running 1.6 bvc's and it was just too dang hot even at 3 "volts". i messed with higher resistance coils and wicking in the kayfun last night and have it dialed in a bit better now - when i empty the kayfun out, i'm gonna drop in a 1.8 ohm coil in the nautilus and see what's what.
