I decided to go ahead and order the kuro coilers and a spool of 28mg kanthal today. I have some silica but was wondering if there is something else I should use for wick.

Now we are talking Hitt! You'll find flavor like you might not have experienced yet. Re wicks: I trade off between Organic cotton, Cello cotton and most recently Japaneese cotton. All very inexpensive! If you want to try any of it, I'm happy to send you a bit for fun and for free. Just PM me. I also have some readyxwick that I would share also if you are inclined.

A tad bit of playing around and you are gonna love your flavor AND save $!!!

Hahahaha...I just re-read my post. Glad I did. I had written "colon" for cotton.

awesome!!!!!
you're gonna have a blast man.

i'm a fan of organic cotton (it's cheap, easy to work with and i've got enough to last me for 20 years or something) but, the japanese cotton seems to be a thing these days:

there's also polyester and metal mesh contingents but, i've not paid enough attention to speak on it. oh look, a balloon----->

I'm glad you're liking it. I know the istick was a disappointment for you.

grrr***** (shakes fist) it had everything but the accuracy.gah..

i hear they fixed the rms issue in the 30 and 50 watters though.i'm happy to pay the extra 10 bucks for the replaceable battery option and better build quality though -it's all good.i'm definitely a fan.

as to the dropping question, i've only dropped it 3 times so far :) the rubbery stuff seems to help with the lack of grip i have. once from waist high and twice off the bench to the floor and she's still kicking and no worse for wear.i may get froggy and chuck it off the roof after the weather clears out.come to think of it, there might be a touch of the ol cabin fever running around the ol noodle....

I just have a couple drippers right now but might consider something that holds a couple ml of liquid if I take to this coil building.

Once you've figured out coiling on a dripper, you might consider a kayfun. I use my dripper to taste new flavors but my Kayfuns are my out and about tanks. Depending on the set-up, they can hold up to 4or 5 mls.

I was shopping for some Kayfun parts at Avid V the other day and added a bit of Japanees (Koh Gen) cotton to the order. It was only .75 and its giving me a chance to check it out without ordering a car load. So far, so good on my Reo chocked full of Black Clove. That one pad will last me a few months. Wicks are tiny.

You build the coil first and then put the wick thru (so much easier!). There are a number of threads Am on my way to work so a tad short on time. I have found the Kayfun Lite (part 1 and 2) to be extremely helpful! I'm sure there are other great threads in the RTA section. I tend to like the smaller tanks too. I've been using the KFL plus version 2 with either a Pico ((Cloud 9vapor) or a shorter cap (sorry, can't remember the name) from Avid. Both yield around 2-3. Nice and stealth.

Have fun reading!

I don't want a huge tank. I've been using the mini nautilus and regular aerotank recently. Something with a 2-2.5ml capacity would suit me fine. I don't go thru a lot of liquid a day since I use snus too.

you might look at a kayfun/lite with a drop kit (smaller chimney and smaller poly section):
Kayfun Nano / Drop Kit Conversion Parts

my 3.1 with the drop kit on it still holds a hair over 3 ml's if i remember correctly.there's always the kayfun mini too but, it seems like it just traded length for girth. that thing is like a light saber fully extended :)

I was looking around and saw that you can buy a nano and have seen kayfun lite from tobeco and ehpro. What's the difference.

perceived quality difference. i've had them from both and haven't noticed a difference in the build quality.

i have one of these :
Kayfun Lite Rebuildable Atomizer

with this on it:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1649900

i use it daily and have no issues other than some rough threads at first (some 2000 grit emery paper took care of it).
