I find that since I am new to this again that coming here helps keep me on track... Even though I am one of the quieter ones the support and posts here help me through the day.. The posts about how much it is helping are really valuable and I figure if they are valuable to me then maybe they will be for someone else also that has just found their way here...

So what health benefits have you personally experienced?

Hi!

1. I am calmer. I haven't had it checked yet but I'm pretty certain my BP is lower.
2. I can breathe! That was becoming a problem when I would work out.
3. My nose is less congestive. I don't have to be constantly hitting nose spray.
4. My endurance has increased.
5. I sleep much, much better now days.
6. I'm not coughing up gobs of stuff every, stinking, morning.
7. I don't stink (kinda health related. :) )

My hair stopped falling out... No, wait, I shave my head now... Never mine! There is no 8 currently.

Hey bookem, I'm from AR too! Like Bostlabs I can breathe better, personally smell better, walk back up the hill from the mailbox without stopping 3 times. (Not that that one pleases my dog:laugh:)
Don't cough when I get up or lay down ... dang! Just too many things to mention. Glad the site is helping to keep you on track tho' :)

Oh yeah! And my blood pressure IS lower :)

I breath better & can walk or even jog without losing my breath or feeling like I'm going to pass out! My BP is also down! Instead of gaining weight I've lost a couple of pounds...but I think that's because I vape more sweets instead of eating them lol! Overall I just feel much better!

Yes there is #8. I find that I snack much less often.

Thanks for reminding me Chimney! :)

I can hold a conversation without coughing, I don't cough up a glob every morning/afternoon/evening, feel like I have more energy ........ and feel like I have less stress because a) I don't have anyone lecturing me on how bad smoking is (like I didn't already know) and b) I don't have the feeling of wanting to smack anyone upside the head and telling them to mind their own damn business

    Tucson, it's a dry heat
Better sleep (need LESS of it)
    Lost weight (lost my appetite!)
    No snoring
Increased fluid/water intake (gave up diet soda)
    More energy and stamina
Happier because I'm proud of myself and found a new hobby
    Better breath

    Not health related but:

Saving money (even though I spend a lot on supplies and juice.) I'm not buying more cigs, food, and thirstbusters!

EDIT: I think my short-term memory is getting better too.

Hmmm...I haven't noticed any really obvious changes, yet. I'm still lazy, so I'm still taking my son down the extremely long and sloped driveway to the bus on the ATV. If I were truly ambitious, I'd leave the ATV and walk, but ummm.....no. Smoking or not, I ain't walking back up that hill. Thinking about it, I guess the most obvious differences to date are the lack of grimy ashtray smell and no whistling lung sounds when I go to bed.

Is that the other side of Glenwood?

Make that 3 of us! Hummm, new weight loss program!

Breathing a little better, tasting things better. Getting a workout now because my wallet is heavier. (PAD smoker in NYC means 12 bucks a day)

    WoWZer!!!

Wow, I've lost weight too, about 5 pounds! And this was after not working out for about a month and a half! I just went back to the gym the other day and was pleasantly surprised to read the scale. I think it's because I vape inside and instead of reaching for a bag of chips I reach for a vape. Quit smoking and lose weight at the same time! :D

Now that you mention it, I think my short term memory is better too. It may have to do with me not being as scatter brained waiting for the next cig fix. I vape more than I smoked, but when I'm not vaping I don't get the urge to vape like the urge to smoke. I can wait for hours at a time when I have to.
