a) Desire - as a lot of other people have already said - is the primary key. And if you are posting (or just lurking) you already have that

b) The correct setup - I suggest gobbling up the information here in the new members forum. You will find people just starting out with the same questions you may have. You will see lots of members with some time under their belt jumping in and happily answering them with their experiences and what has worked for them. There are no stupid questions, we were all where you are today and are quite willing to help

c) youtube videos - you will find lots of people describing in detail every piece of equipment you might come across.

d) the right liquids - My advice is to buy small bottles of different liquids to find juices you may enjoy. Don't limit yourself to one style (fruit/tobacco/candy/bakery etc). You may find that you like vaping something you never would have guessed you would like. When you find some you like, That's when you buy bigger bottles.

e) find your nic strength - I started @ 24mg because I was a longtime "REDS" smoker who had dropped down to Lights before switching. I found out that 18mg was best for me @ that time. I kept some 24 mg around for when I needed something stronger or was enjoying some adult beverages. I later dropped down to 12mg and am now @ 6mg

Most importantly, If you are still smoking and vaping, that's okay!!! You can get there Remember it's not the ones you smoke that count, it's the ones you don't

The right equipment helps and it looks like you have some decent stuff. Try a higher nicotine level say a 24 and vape every time you crave a cigarette. before long you will forget you ever smoked those nasty things. ( My niece calls cigarettes Yucks )

When I was making the transition, I did this; when I'd get the urge for a smoke, I'd tell myself, ok self, vape now, but later if you really want, you can have that smoke. Increasingly, I never did go have that smoke. But putting it off for a while, by vaping instead, teaches your "habit" that there's nothing to panic about; there's always later if you really want. The longer "later" becomes, the more your "habit" understands, it's all good; vaping can scratch the same itch that smoking does, it just takes a little longer.

"One day at a time" works this way for alcoholics. I will never say "I'll never drink again," because that scares me so bad, I really need a drink! :D I just say, today, I will not drink. Tomorrow can take care of itself. When tomorrow actually arrives, it'll be "today"... and I will not drink TODAY. I've accumulated 22 yrs worth of TODAYs, this way.

You get to a point in your life when you wake up in the middle of the night coughing so hard you almost throw up....then you begin to rethink your priorities. You wonder have I done all the damage yet or should I try something different. Younger people don't realize we were you many years ago. We loved the cigs...heaven knows why. The only smart thing for younger people today that smoke is to learn from some of us old farts and find a better way. Right now it's vaping for me ...no telling what the future holds.

Yeah thats no good but I whenever I went to sleep I always felt like I couldn't breathe and that really freaked me out, but that also has to do with how much damage I did to my sinuses when I was younger.

What I did was just buy an Ego (can't remember the exact name of the thing) and keep on smoking. At first I just couldn't take the vape, it would make me gag, but then I'd leave it alone and try again, and kind of kept at it. I got to researching and ordered a bunch of stuff, a vamo, protanks, evods a few other things and kept on smoking but smoking a lot less.

In the first few weeks I cut the smokes down to nearly half, then I did only two or three packs a week, then I tried making it a day without a smoke and at some point I ran out of smokes and realized it and just kinda made the decision not to buy anymore.

Once I was all in, I quickly progressed to mechs, better VW mods, RTAs, RDAs, etc.

Don't think just switching from one to the other would have worked for me.

I struggled a lot early on. I was really in need of more "advanced stuff" at the very beginning even though I didn't know a damn thing. My first set-up was an MVP and a Nautilus tank. While for some people this is fantastic and all they'd ever need, it didn't satisfy me at all. I tried, but just went right back to the Marlboros. I don't know what possessed me to give it another shot, but I bought an Atlantis and a 30 watt mod the first day it came out in a last ditch effort. 3 month's later, I have 4 sub-ohm tanks, 5 RDAs, 2 100w mods, endless bottles of 3mg juice and I'm happy.

Yeah I've spend a lot of money in a short amount of time, but all of our lives and our health is worth more than special paper printed at a mint.

For me it was first going to 26 mg/ml nicotine in a flavor that I really liked. Then when I was down to the last two or three cigarettes a day the fact that it was a bad winter even for North Dakota so I really didn't want to have to go out and about just to buy cigarettes finished the last step.

I found the MVP/Nautilus combo to be very disappointing. Those BVC's take more then 11 watts to shine. On my MVP, I was using the included iClear more then anything.
