Ive noticed alot of seemingly negative, whining, "just dont wanna hassle" , to much to learn posts over the couple of weeks of perusing this forum, and thot to myself today after only two days and much success of taking up this new "Practise"(notice, I didnt say habit, already have that) I should post a list that can be added to as to what I WONT MISS!!

FILTH,ashtrays, ashes EVERYWHERE!
FIRE, burns on my clothing, carpet car everywhere
INCONVENIENCE, where do i put my burning cig down? now i just put it in my pocket!!!!
MONEY, was paying $2.70 per thru an Indian res!
FEELING REJECTED, restuarants, ball games, etc.
THE STINK, most of which I probably dont even notice yet, but others do
40 YEARS of embarassment due to my lack of will power, which after much discovery realize I became hooked to the worst drug on the Planet.

I"ll stop there, let everyone chime in, I could go on for hours im sure!

Everything everyone else has mentioned plus:

Burns to my person. Especially when a cig would stick to my lips, and my fingers would run down the length of the cig and hit the fire. I also still have a scar on my stomach from where the fire fell off a cig one time.

Smoke getting in my eyes. It's not nearly as romantic as the song would have you believe. It actually burns quite a lot.

Dropping a lit cigarette while driving and having it roll under the seat.

I've never personally had such a bad reaction to the smoker's odor, but a friend was telling me the other day that him and a few other smokers went out to eat and as soon as they sat down they overheard people at a neighboring table complaining about a "bad smell". After a couple minutes of that, the waitress actually told my friend's group that they had to move to a different table because their cigarette odor was bothering other customers. Granted, those other people were obviously anti-smoker, holier-than-thou types, but still!

Bad enough you can't smoke IN a restaurant anymore (well, I guess it's no big deal), but us smokers are always chastised for our odor. Not anymore with the vaping!

It was kind of funny... the other day in Walgreens a woman came up and started chatting with our daughter for a few seconds (she's cute as a button.... happens all the time). After we walked out, my wife and I both agreed that the woman was definitely a smoker. :) Don't get me wrong.... I am not turning into an "Anti-smoker"...... it's just funny how you don't realize how much you smell to non-smokers until you quit. :)

I will not miss having the dentist giving me the lecture.....

I will not miss the snide comments people make....(now they think I am doing a great thing when I was smoking I was killing myself etc)

I will not miss having my monster in law chain smoking in my house while complaining it smells like smoke (shes gotta go outside now...wait till she finds this out)

I will not miss the emptying and cleaning the 10lb ashtray that my hubby thought was so great.

Oooh... that could be a fun conversation.

It was easy with my parents. I told them that nobody smokes in my house, not even me. I don't make exceptions where the health of my wife and kids are concerned.
