What is a durable setup that will not break in a pocket during a hard labor job?

Yes the 510 connection is the weak point, actually the only weak point of the REO. In fact my buddy just manage to finally ruin his 510 connection on his REO. Mind you, after as he put it 3 direct drops on the atomizer. So yes a REO can be broke. Now here's the difference.

He called Rob, explained his problem and Rob told him to send it in. For a very fair fee Rob replaced the 510 connection and his REO is as good as new. Find me another product with that type of service combined with the durable design...

A single 18650 is plenty of battery to get you through a entire day. There's a collapsible hot spring that fails should it short. I have yet to collapse a spring though. And the lack of circuitry is what makes it so reliable. And you have 6ml on board.

You can fix everything yourself pretty much. All the parts are available to do so. Look I can't stand blind fanboys/girls but, there's a reason REO people are crazy about REOs. They really are just that reliable and good.

Disassemble and clean monthly and keep noalux on your battery contacts.

And I'm sure people who own REO's, love them. Perhaps I would too if I ever got into mechs. I just prefer all the convenience, bells & whistles, consistent vape regardless of battery life as well as charging capabilities of a chip. I've also never experienced a failure with an electronic device since I upgraded from those cheap eGo's. My current ipv is even waterproof.

With a mech it's just a battery holder and a switch of some sort. It's basic and easy to repair on the fly. The reo is little more than a tube mod but a very tough mod.
Nothing against your mod. My current all day mod is a vv ranger box. Id happily take my reo and drop it on anything but the atomizer. I wouldn't drop any mod on the atomizer though. If I drop any mod other than my reo Id be really curious the state it was in when I picked it up, especially a vv mod.

I work on a shop floor regularly crawling under and over the automated production machines we build. In my pocket I carry anything from a box mod with a tank on top or may be a long spinner 2 with a tank, etc and I don't break or put pressure on any of them because I'm careful and I don't like breaking things BUT, I've also got an egrip with the RBA upgrade. It's tought and small and a great vape and is the easiest of the above to pocket carry. Having said that, there's nothing that can't be abused until it breaks.

I work a construction labourious job also. A mech with dripper is the way to go. Tanks are tall and prone to get hung up in your pocket when bending and the such. This puts stress on the 510 especially if its not flush mounted. Also if a tank breaks from a fall or whatever,your pretty much screwed. A dripper has a much lower profile, less likely to get snagged up during bending and what not. Most drippers are adjustable so can be flush mounted, taking the strain off of the 510 when it gets pushed on and so. A dripper can easily be fixed or re-wicked or coiled on the go.

I has the mostest durables.
I prefer the low pro reo grand.
It's the most durable.
I can drip (upside down) with one hand busy all day.
I always has joose available thanks to the on board tank.
All this and easily pocketable in one device.

I prefer the nuppin' atomizer on it.
Nothing feeds and drains better. The nuppin' was purpose built for squonkin' and the performance shows.
No more joose seepage into the pocket no matter how I screw up.

And the nuppin'/lp grand combo can be easily built for tons of flavor and/or vapor.

All these devices can fit in any pocket a pack of cigs used to occupy.

P.S. I has teh mechs (from SS to Cu), drippers and bf drippers too. Not pictured because either 1 they're more suitable for life at home with hands free to drip or 2 they'll drip in the pocket or generally require more fuss.

Both have their pros & cons but I currently prefer what a regulated box offers vs a mech in terms of safety, features and convenience. And in the rare event that the device does fail, I do have backups while taking advantage of the warranty. All a mech is going to do is make me have to purchase more batteries, a charger, etc. You will also read posts from people dropping their iPV's multiple times and they keep coming back. I know my MVP has taken a bigger beating then any electronic I've ever owned and still works like day 1.

Nothing against mechs but they currently aren't really for me.

I have been using the aspire atlantis. Hits almost* as good as a rda. Not quite but way stronger than other clearomizers. Seems pretty sturdy, not sure if there are metal sleeves or replacements for the glass.

This can be used with a mechanical mod if he wants. That's my vote.

Its a big mod but the MVP is pretty much indestructible... Id reccomend the MVP2.0 for now cuz price should be going down til they come out with the one with the evolv chip... In terms of an attomizer the Nautalis Mini Stainless should work great

My vote goes to the Reo. Make sure to get a LP Reo though. Will give him more flexibility in RDA choices.

Reading through the first few pages, I noticed a lot of people recommending vv/vw mods, and mostly ones with aluminium bodies. I'm involved in security/crowd control and carry either a Panzer 2 or a Stingray X at work (both clones @ about $25 ea) They've both taken quite a few knocks and the Panzer is holding up well being stainless steel and built like a tank.
I also use a drilled out TOBH V2 RDA clone and drip at work with no issues. I also use a Kayfun @ 0.8 ohms and occasionally a Kanger Genitank.
I've been using the same coils in the dripper for almost 2 months now, just carefully changing the wicks when needed. Same with the Kayfun, so I really don't understand why people think dripping is fiddly.
Ultimately, every vaper has their own preferences and tastes so the only real way to see what he likes is to try. I use my clones at work and my genuine mods stay at home. A clone mod, RDA and say a Kayfun would be around $70 - $80 for a reasonable quality set of all 3 (without batteries and charger).

This is what I carry, all day, every day. R80 folding pipe in 18650 mode, Smok FBC clearo with 1.8 ohm coil. The cap over the drip tip keeps debris out.

And...rob, head reonaut, is coming out with a 510 upgrade that is supposed to be damn near unbreakable. You will destroy the threads on your atty before you damage the 510. If that wasn't enough, he is coming out with a line of resin reos!!!! Glow in the dark!!! WHAT?!?
I read a lot of hype from the reonauts. I too felt that regulated devices were "better." Then I bought one. Mind blown.
So I am at work the other night, I drive a bus. I am running both of my reos way lower than they were intended. Managed to break both of them, neither one would work. Totally my fault.
I was able to completely disassemble both units to rebuild one that worked. The only device that interests me now is, you guessed it, my third reo!!
Reonaut for life!!!!!!

For your pocket or belt carry rugged device, you just can not go wrong with a REO.mod. So simple and a build could last at least a month with a little re-wick once in awhile.

A fresh battery and a loaded bottle in this device would probably last for a whole shift while delivering a great vape.

That is an awesome carry rig. Where did you get it???

I'm not really one for clones, but as a mechanic I know I'll probably be giving my MOD and oil change sooner or later.... and don't want something $$$.
My suggestion is what I bring with to work, a Hana style MOD from FT (bought the case and chip and built it myself). With that I'll use either a Kayfun lite+ with S.S. tank section or the Magma dripper. 1 thing I did do differently on the Cana was to drill the 510 out to use the Varitube spring loaded 22mm 510 plate... everything sits flush now so there's less chance of the 510 braking when I bump it.

David, this is where the reo truly shines. If you give it an oil change, a quick wash,rinse,and rewick and you are back in business. I wash mine about once a month. Several reonauts wash theirs in the dishwasher.
