To answer your question, first let's look at its definition:

hy·brid (hī′brĭd)
n.
1. Genetics The offspring of genetically dissimilar parents or stock, especially the offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties, species, or races.

2.
a. Something of mixed origin or composition, such as a word whose elements are derived from different languages.

b. Something having two kinds of components that produce the same or similar results, such as a vehicle powered by both an electric motor and an internal combustion engine as sources of power for the drive train.

In the modified e-cigarette world, a hybrid mod will fuse a battery tube (aka "the mod") along with an atomizer in one unit that cannot be separated, much like a mechanical mod and 510 connected atomizer otherwise would. Typically, hybrids are less in cost in comparison to buy them separately and have been known to perform pretty well.

For examples, lookup the iHybrid or Noble 1.

Thanks everyone. Except NineToez lol. Posted the question on e-ciggarette forum. I was generally aware of the concept prior and think that can be easily derived from the question.

Not having the ability to switch... that's terrible. I really like the different ways to vape. Whether tank or dripper, dual or single coil (omg concentric?). Me: "Whats your build?" Them: "hybrid-such and such." Me: "Sorry to hear that." I was looking at a "hybrid" mod and thinking, where the hell do you screw the apparatus in? So really, that's it huh. More research is warranted, thanks again responders.

ability to switch is user preferance. I have buddies that have only ihy's in their aresenal, its what they found they liked best and stick to it. Then there are people like me that have ihy's, vv, vw, mechanical, semi mechanical, genesis atomizers, rda's, 510 drip atties, carto tanks all running in rotations.

I say to each their own and as long as they are staying of the stinkies why not. My wife ONLY uses a vamo in shorty mode and a vivi nova, I usually have 4-5 device set up at once, its all in what we like.

Here's a pic of my Hybrid, has a 110 volt battery, frak, that's 40K watts with a .3 build. lmao

Some atomizers are designed to screw on in hybrid mode, removing the 510 cap and screwing the rba directly onto the tube. My Aqua and Stingray work in hybrid mode. You can see the 510 cap sitting next to the Stingray/Aqua Hybrid.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass, but assumed from your original post that you knew nothing of how they worked. Even though you didn't benefit from my reply, someone else may have.
