what is a nano coil

So I am unclear as to what a nano coil is and am having trouble finding a clear answer. Up until now I had assumed a micro coil was a sub ohm coil and a nano was a micro coil wrapped around something smaller than 16 gauge. Well now I'm thinking a micro is any coil that has the coils touching and still very unclear as to micro coil. Any tips and opinions related to this OP is appreciated.

Mini-, micro- and nanocoils all have touching loops. The difference between them is the internal diameter. Resistance (ohms) has nothing to do with it.

Other than that, the definitions are not very rigid. Bigger than 5/64" is generally considered mini. If the inner diameter is as small as the wire gauge, it's a nano. YMMV.

There is no definitive answer however from vape meets, the forums, customers in the vape shop etc. the consensus I've seen is this.

Micro Coil: a coil where all of the wraps touch each other with an inner diameter anywhere from 1mm to 3mm. The wick is placed through the coil maximizing wick to coil contact.

Nano Coil: a micro coil with an inner diameter less than 1mm. The wick is either laid down in the atomizer with the coil pushed down into it or wrapped around the outside of the coil creating a chimney style wick.

So a 1/16 inch drill bit would still be too big for nano correct? Anyone know of an easily obtained item smaller than a mm to wrap with?

Since you're already into wrapping: Resistance wire (or any solid core NR wire).

Paperclips aren't to hard but recently I have been going to the local pharmacies looking for 28 - 30 gauge needles. You may have to ask but they generally have them for insulin shots. You can get the ones that are attached to the syringe for under $5 and they are sturdier than Paperclips and easier to wrap.

I ended up buying brass rods off amazon that r 1/32" which is 22g for 4.50 and free shipping. Im worried brass may not be sturdy enough but ive got time and they were cheap and long so thnx for everyones info and i hope things work out.
