if you are talking about a standard coil (spaced, or loose wraps) vs micro coil, one thought is the standard coil produces better vapor because the air gets to the wick forcing vapor to be produced (like blowing on a pot of water that is almost ready to boil creates steam). The micro coil/nano coils where all the wraps touch creates a "heat tube" that heats up and forces vapor to shoot out either side of the "tube". personally i dont notice much difference between the performance of the two types of coil, though I will say the flavor is "different." Better or worse depends on the juice, so it just brings out different notes IMO. Some have said that "super heating" the juice could cause it to break down differently, producing chemicals to break down that ordinarily dont with lower heat.
For me, the biggest benefit to a micro coil is that it has great performance but it is also easier to rewick - rewicking a standard coil the coil is looser and more prone to having your wraps move around as you pull your wick through (when removing the old or adding the new). with a standard coil you are usually using a thinner wire as with a thicker wire you'd have a much wider coil. the thinner wire is (obviously) more pliable, so more prone to moving. even a micro/nano coil with thinner wire is easier to rewick (imo) because, again, the wraps that make the coil all touch so there is no place for them to move individually.
