Welcome!
I'm also a new ecig user, as of but four weeks now. I started with a KR808D-1 with cartomizers - a two piece unit if you are not familiar with it. They are available at many vendors. I dealt with two - CigEasy and Vapor4Life, and had a good experience with both.
I however did not like the process for refilling the cartomizers, and considered them too expensive for a single use and then throw out. Others really, really like cartomizers. Just not preferred by me.
I now have a Joye510 xl from Cignot, and some of their liquid, with mega atomizers and mega cartridges, and am very happy with the products.
By no means are these the only products that people here like. But it does seem to me that the Joye 510 (be careful - there are other companies that make a 510, and some seem less reliable from what I have read) and the KR808D-1 are two of the more popular, and more widely available.
Be careful of niche products. They may be good, but may be hard to find from more than a very limited number of vendors. If you get locked in to a less popular and common brand, it may be hard to get the replacement parts you will need, and they may be more expensive. Competition leads to lower prices.
For me the 510 has one advantage over the KR808D-1. It can be used as either a two piece with a cartomizer or as a three piece - and easily so without buying any adapters. On the other hand, the KR808D-1 has better battery life in a smaller length than the 510 xl, while the standard 510 is short but has a very limited battery life.
I would also suggest that you try both PG and VG liquids. They are quite different and if one does not work well for you, you may have a much better experience than the other.
YMMV. Good luck finding what is best for you.
