What is blue foam?

I recently did a highping mod, and it helped somewhat, but I'm still not satisfied by the drag completely down to the end of the cartridge.

I tried a straw mod, but I got ejuice in my mouth, so I was thinking maybe I should replace the default filler in the cartridges I have.

Someone mentioned blue foam, but I'm not sure what it is or where to get it.

Ideally I would like to use something I can find around the house? Something thats safe and won't burn on the atty.

Any ideas? thank you.

if you are a heavy vapor then a cart can never work right for you, the capillary action of the filler is way too slow to supply you with the ejuice you need.. it might be time for you to graduate to cartomizers or revert to dripping

I have found that using just Blue Foam by its self isn't quite enough. When the foam is wet it looses some of it's springiness and gets pushed down into the cart far enough to loose some contact with the atomizer's bridge thus reducing its effectiveness to wick properly. So what's needed is some sort of support under the foam.

Therefore I've gone with the The Blue Foam Dart Mod by Pete54. By adjusting the length of the straw part of the mod you can achieve the necessary support under the foam to keep it snugly against the bridge at all times.

This seems to be working quite well for me.

I think I need to get a cartomizer, did some research, and came up with this:

Its in czech, but here is an english description of the cartomizer for the 510. It seems to be a new easy refill version.

What is Cartomizer?... cartridge and atomizer in one, eliminating the need for separate atomizer dokupování .. better, "cleaner" the implementation of e-liquid.

See I don't think cartomizers are any sort of upgrade...I find them a step backwards...
if you're a heavy vaper their wicking action is as bad if not worse than cartridges...only this time since the wire is right in the center of the wick you add the lovely burning filler issues

I use a black foam that is very similar to the aquarium filter blue foam but is colored black, and I found it in a vacuum cleaner store; it is used inside the filters of certain vacuum cleaners. It always springs-up right to the atomizer no matter how wet it is. I usually get about 3 cigarettes worth of drags before it needs topping off (it doesn't perform well when under 50% wet). But for me this has been the best vaping experience as far as throat hit and vapor production goes; I find cartomizers to be too wimpy and 'airy', and I don't see myself dripping anytime too soon (too messy/fiddly, I'm on the move a lot). I just fill up about 5 or 6 carts for the day, already attached to atomizers, so in effect they act like 'cartomizers': screw off, screw on.

That's the same stuff as the Blue Foam aquarium filter material just already cut into small squares.

Sometime, though, the precut stuff just isn't the right size. I had to cut one square in half and put it on top of another full size square for a total of 1-1/2 squares so it would fit my 901 atomizers.

Even making the Dart Mod I had to cut my own because the precut ones were not tight enough to prevent leakage. Now that I'm cutting my own everything's perfect for the Dart Mod.
