I haven't dripped in months since discovering carto tanks. This has me intrigued. I used to use LR attys because I was using a fixed eGo battery. Now that I have anything from a Twist, to a eGo-V MEGA, to a Vamo, to a Provari, which Ohm resistance do you suggest if I look into these? I use 2.0 ohm cartos. My three dripping attys are old, but workable. I rarely if ever use them, though... Are these worth a look-see, test-drive?

For flavor, dripping is king (in the carto/atty ring). Polyfill mutes flavor. A good dripping atty uses just the coil. Pure, clean flavor.

*insert server joke here*

Hah hah, I serve at a "land down under". We all know Cisco.

On the other hand, there was a rap song back in the day, all I remember was, "Everybody drinkin' Cisco! Cisco! Everybody drinkin' Cisco! Cisco!" It took me a while there to connect the dots, but they weren't drinking beef tallow or food products... just a cheap wine...

Not sure if this is what you were asking... but, The Vamo and the Provari (not sure about the ego-v MEGA) are variable voltage. You can use whatever resistance atty/carto you want. Depending on flavor and preference you will choose what resistance you like most, I use both SR and LR atty's/carto's for different flavors.

Hee hee. I know all that, but thank you anyway. :)

I should've asked better. I always assumed people with fixed voltages like basic eGos wanted lo-res because it "boosted" the [insert electrical term here, volts/wattage, etc] to produce better vapor. I could be totally wrong though...

I'm wondering if 2.0 ohm SR attys would be a more viable choice since I'm using VV. I'm familiar with the Ohms/Volts/Wattage charts, so I'm pretty sure I know what volts/watts to set for a 2.0 ohm.

The SLB eGo-VV v2 MEGA is a Kgo-VV style battery, only with a clicky button and a higher mAh (1200 compared to the Kgo's 650).

Oh, I dripped for a solid three months. I know all about dripping. :)

I'd say--since you are sticking with the vape route, go with a silica RBA. I was using $50 ceramic atties with awesome results. Now that I've gone with silica RBAs, I've tapped into the perfect vape. Now I'm just collecting my favorite pieces, mainly a daily and a backup.

Daily: GGTS+Ody
Backup: Poldiac+Penelope (or Igo-L for S and Gs).

Honestly, the way to the perfect vape is super low resistance on a mechanical mod. Nothing, NOTHING compares to 25 watt vaping.

I think I see what you're getting at. I remember seeing people mentioning 1.1 ohms and even less, and other posters said this was correct as far as RBA's are concerned.

I'm trying to schedule a meeting in the flesh with Baditude and my buddy, who wants to get into RBA's. I'm still happy with my carto tanks but I'm more than willing and eager to learn this new mystery, as well.

EDIT: I could be 100% wrong with everything I just said. Learning, yo!

EDIT 2: It took me roughly 3 months to really get the "gist" of vaping, and I'm still learning, but the terms, model names, and a lot of the "fringe" stuff regarding RBAs leaves me spinning and confused. I'm positive I'll understand the bulk of it in time, but the different proprietary names and everything else leaves me going, "Huh?!" and keeps Google a very active link.

I feel you. The first time I saw this forum I was confused/angry/lost. Once I got my hands on the actual products (many worthless) I figured out my personal vaping heaven. I'm a firm believer in SLR vaping on mechanical devices--everyone (vapors/non-vapors) I've let try my set-up is amazed at the TH/vapor/taste.

Chasing that dragon (perfect everything) is what drives me. Even after I found it, it moves along, enticing me to go further.

Granted, I am fortunate enough to be able to blow $300 every other day on parts/mods/atties. I've been able to kick a serious cigarette addiction through vaping, but now it is a race to find the richest experience within this hobby.

Cisco is just his screen name, and back when he use to make his own line of atties. Now he has atties made to those same specifications. Thus the name "cisco spec". They're great atties, but now in the day of the RBA they have become yesterdays news for advanced vapors.
With modern RBA's we have the ability to make coils that produce exactly what we want instead of settling for what someone else thinks we want. For example I have no desire to vape at that 25 watts that Sneaker eluded to. Right now I'm vaping a 3ohm coil at 4.5v in an A7 (about 7 watts). It vapes the way I want ... to hell with what anyone else wants. Much easier to fine tune with RBA's for what you want than it is with an atty that is made to someone elses "specs".
If you look at the original "Cisco spec" atties you will see that they were designed to vape at 8 watts. One for vaping at 3.7v, and one for vaping at 5v. I twist my RBA coils to "tj's specs"

Cool, thanks for the Cisco explanations. Ya I'm sure you can do better wrapping your own coils but honestly I just don't feel like doing it so I thought I'd try one that's ready out of the box; and these are where I saw some good reviews, such as the PBusardo review. Currently I have a few from IkenVape but I feel like it could be better. I plan on trying some bridgeless too to see what I like best.
