What is that burnt taste and is it bad for you?

One thing that I noticed with both models of e-cig that I use (RN4081 and L88b) is that sometimes I get a burnt taste that I cannot explain. When I pull the cart, everything looks fine - no sign of burned poly-fill, no melting cart plastic. And the taste is not accompanied by a burning smell.

At first I thought it might be an indication that my cart needed refilling, but sometimes it happens after only a few drags. And even if it happens after a longer period of vaping, I still get tons of vapor.

I have searched the forum, but I can't seem to find an explanation for this (it's a great forum, but the search feature is not so efficient).

Any ideas?

im running a smoking everywhere RN4081, same thing happens to me. One thing i have noticed is that inside the carts of the rn4081, the little plastic vessel with the poly where you put the liquid in.. the polyfill is GLUED/ADHERED to the little white plastic piece. What I did was ripped the poly out, used my nails to tightly grab and "scratch" off the adhesive. Personally, I can't believe that even put glue in there. This helped A LITTLE, but i still get a burning taste. New Replacement Atomizer does the same thing. Another thing I noticed, it that often times, my poly will come out and just stick to the atomizer mesh. (AFTER I HAVE REMOVED THE ADHESIVE] that gives me a HORRIFIC burnt taste... but the poly doesn't seem affected at all??

I noticed the glue or whatever it is, too, in my RN4081. But I also get that taste with my L88b, and that has no glue in the carts. I think it must have something to do either with the polyfill sticking to the atomizer or, maybe, the silver absorbent stuff on the bridge of the atomizer itself. If it gets too dry, maybe it starts to burn.

Nasty, whatever it is.
