What is that plastic taste?

Thank you, MeowMix. I had bought a couple of Clearomizers with my kit, but hadn't used them yet. I filled one this morning and it was much, much easier than a carto. My sales rep had told me to turn it upside down every few puffs, so I've been doing that. I'm going to stick with the Clears for awhile since, for me, it is taking the guesswork out of this. I'm just coming off analogs, so I really can't deal with much vaping failure at this point. I'm keeping a close eye on my fill level and making sure it stays between 1/2 and 3/4s. I'll see how it goes today.

I've been vaping with a Vision Clearomizer all day and haven't had a problem at all. Dead easy to fill, no plastic taste, good vapor, consistent flavor. I'll be sticking with these, I think. I'm finding it much better and am having no problems or frustration at all. I ordered 8 more today. That should hold me for awhile.

Still no analogs, which at this point is my driving motivation. At some point when I'm less at risk for relapse to analogs I'm going to try out some of the tank mods I saw on the atty/carto/tank forum. Not only does it look like fun, it looks like a much less PITA than plain cartos.

I gave up on CE2 type cartos because of poor wicking @ 5 and 6 volts. I'm all about carto tanks now, but that's a whole nother learning curve!

Clearos are quite nice if you treat 'em right. :)

Just thought I'd pop in to say that I recommend carefully ripping the guts out of any cartomizer that you've given up for burnt, at least the first few times it happens. I just pinch the entire end of the filler, with center tube included, with some needle-nose pliers, and twist/pull until the atomizer wire breaks and the whole thing comes out.

You'll immediately see if you managed to get the juice all the way to the bottom of the filler or not when you filled it. If you then unroll it, you can see if there was actually any burning going on around the coil.

Knowledge is power. :)

I am not sure......here and this is just a idea (i am still trying to figure out how it all works myself) but you said your ego is 1100mAh? and the cart is 2.0 ohms? could it be maybe the battery is over powering the cart? It would be like trying to cook a stake dead center in the sun....

Hi Constantine. I'm clueless at this point about batteries/ohm's/resistance etc. These are the cartos that came with my eGo kit when I bought it. Do you think they might be wrong...?

Thank you.

Thanks for your response, hairball. Yes, I've encountered it a few times today with different cartomizers (I'm using several different flavors today). I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I fill the carts using the condom method, then I drip about 10 drops into the top as well, until the filling is completely saturated. But I still get a strange plastic taste that is really unpleasant. Is it possible to burn out a cart in an hour or two?

Sometimes I have the same problem and I use the same method to fill the carts so I know its not dry. A few days ago I had just filled a cart and my firts vape had that burnt taste. I took off the drip tip and looked into the cart and I saw some of the filler sticking up so I took a paper clip and pushed those loose threads back down into the filler material. Problem solved.

2ohm shouldn't be a problem on an eGo no matter the mah. I'm running 1.6ohm DC's @ 4.5 volts and higher. Course they're in a tank so they're always wet.
