What is the best CIGALIKE kit now a days?

I'm kinda thinking I should return to more MTL setups and get away from sub-ohm vapes, although I'm going to miss the big, airy draws from them.

There's a place for both. I've been MTL exclusively for years until about a year ago. Now I'm MTL about 90% of the time but enjoy rich flavorful clouds at home occasionally at .18 ohms. I think I'll be doing both for the foreseeable future. My wife uses a Minifit during the workday and it's a nice option too. It's great to find your own personal vaping style among all these choices.

Yea, I sent Blu an E-Mail questioning why they did this and never got a response, that's one thing I always hated about them is they seemed very shady when it came to customer service. I know a lot of people hate on Blu, now a days I can understand why but back in the early days of vaping, they were extremely popular and that was my first ever ecig/kit and that's what got me into vaping, I really liked their kits and I thought their "charging pack" that looked like a pack of cigarettes, that you could keep everything in/charging was brilliant!

I believe Volcano ecigs also had a kit of the same liking (in fact I think I had bought one a few months later after I first picked up the Blu kit), however Volcano has really changed their lineup, they seem to be more into selling other companies products now than their own lineup...maybe that's what was killing them is the fact that their own line was just not working for them anymore, who knows!

No, I don't have any of my cigalike kits anymore, I sold them when I moved up to the ego kits within my first year of vaping. I wish I had held onto my Blu kit but oh well.

BTW, since it's been so long since I've used cartos, I can't remember what juice ratio I would want to use with them. Is 50/50 best, I can't remember what I used anymore back then when I would refill my Blu cartos. Halo says to use their "standard" ejuice lineup, but they don't say what the pg/vg ratio is.

I think if I'm going to do this, I'm just going to go with Halo, they really let you customize what you want and I like that. I checked out Volts site and it seems really plain and boring to me, with no choices when it comes to colors, etc, I definitely want the cigalike, not interested in anything larger than that. I know it's kinda going back in time, but when I'm out and about, I always liked using them and I'd just like to have that option again for when I want them. It's not like I'm going to be using them on a daily basis.

Just a few points I feel you should know. Not necessarily negative, but an FYI for the long term.

First, I stopped with a cigalike too, Vuse. Worked great for me, and when I found out it was 48 mg in the pod, I understood it. I did move on from there, but while it wax expensive and in reality tasted pretty crappy compared to more advanced vape stuff, I can't knock them because I would otherwise still he a smoker.

You should know Halo just rebrands their hardware. This is especially noticeable in their Moe's advanced stuff. My first "real" vape stuff was a Halo Triton, which was an overpriced eGo mod, but it did come with their juice which I loved, so the markup wasn't terrible. I ended up PIFing it to a friend to help their wife stop smoking after I moved past it.

Their juice happens to be expensive but excellent. To this day I remember how good Tribeca was. Yes, it was expensive juice, but with mtl in a clearo using 24 mg nic the cost wasn't terrible as I used maybe 2 ml a day at most.

Halo doesn't provide a VG/PG ratio on any of their juices. Their standard is probably 50/50 or even 60/40 PG. Their "max" VG is at most 70/30. For a carto like their cigalike the regular should be fine. Max VG won't work well.

If that's your preferred form factor then go for it. Depending on how much you smoke go higher nic for a pack a day or more. You can also fine tune the amount of nic by buying the same flavor in the 24 mg solution and a bottle of 0 or 3 mg solution (not sure what their current lineup has). You can then dilute the 24 mg down to whatever is sufficient for you, and as it's otherwise the same flavorings so it won't affect or dilute the taste at all.

my best ciga-like kit is the RTA mtl +asmodus colossal on temp control, is the unique kit that have taken me to the sweet spot on vaping, my everyday setup, salt nic liquid consumption have incresed since i have it, quite happy with this one, also flint kit is decent enough and helped me to forget the seldom cigarettes i had random

I don't smoke lol, I haven't since the beginning of 2011, I've been a vapor since like mid July of that year. I never vape anything above 3MG. I'm not sure if there was some confusion on my part or not but I just wanted to clear that up.

The cigalike thing is just something I want to do when I'm out, being social...instead of carrying something heavier or larger with me, plus I love the glow at the end of the battery...I always liked that when I used Blu when I first started!

So, are you saying you don't recommend Halo? Just curious. I would have preferred to have just picked up a Blu kit but since that didn't work out, I'm really that familiar with other cigalikes since that's the only one I ever used.

BTW...last week I finally picked up the DRAG Mini online, I had been wanting to but kept putting it off. I really dig the P2 coil (0.6). A lot of YouTubers who have done reviews on this kit/coil insist that the P2 coil (although it's a sub ohm coil) they insist it's really more of a MTL experience...I highly disagree! I'm only using it at 22 watts and it performs really well, vapor goes directly down into my lungs...no MTL here! I'm not even going to mess with any of their other coils, I was hoping the P2 would be a good match for me (I'm not into using extremely low ohm coils) and I was definitely not disappointed!

Oops, totally missed the not smoking for 8 years thing. My bad. I was pointing out that for a new vaper Halo can be an expensive way to go. Otherwise I think it's a decent product with quality juice selections if you go prefilled. Given the level of use you imply, cost won'r be nearly as much a factor once you get going. I don't know if they do prefilled at 3 mg (or what their selection is these days) but if you go with the refillable cartos that's not an issue.

IMHO, this is how you make vaping work. You try the first thing, anything, and then you keep trying more things and find what works and what does not.

The only people I know who have failed to make the switch are the ones who get stuck on one product and refuse to venture past it when it repeatedly fails to function or satisfy.

We have to be open to experimenting.

So guys, just to confirm here...there are no more cig-a-like kits out there with the charging pack that looks like a pack of cigs anymore? You just have the batteries/cartos but no "pack" anymore? If so, that's a shame!

The previously mentioned Joyetech eRoll MAC is the only one I've seen recently-ish that has a case/pack thing that charges too. It's an update of their eRoll that came out years ago now, I'm told that release is meant to be mid July, I'll be reviewing as I'm sure others will.

I agree about the ciggy pack thing, a shame.... would they now have to have a Medical Warning saying "Vaping will destroy your wallet" with a gruesome image ???

Ugh, I'm not feeling the ceramic coil though, I've heard a lot of bad stuff about ceramic...I don't know if I would go there. Also, I think they should be including a second battery with the kit, only one battery? That's kinda lame.

I already have mine. It's great. I just got some cartridges, not the battery or the case. Because of the ceramic wick/coil, it never dry hits, even if the thing has been riding upside down in your pocket.

I looked at the kit, and it is lame that they only include one battery. But 3 of the .55ml cartridges, I think. The case can supposedly recharge the battery fully in a half hour, and that the case itself takes two hours to recharge.

I've been using ceramic wicked/coiled devices since before ejuice existed, and I'm still OK.

I quit smoking in 2010 with a Joye 510 cigalike, then moved to the eGo for the cartridge with more juice, higher MAH/longer vape time. That smaller the form factor with a mod, the more often you have to refill and recharge.

It didn't take long to realize that I needed something with a battery that could last most of a work day. I shopped around at the vape shops and ended up with a 200W SMOK box mod that used dual 18650's. That worked, but it was huge and heavy. I finally discovered the Eleaf iStick line and found a smaller USB rechargeable solution. Eventually, I bought an iStick Pico and still use those around the house and when I'm out and about. In my search for the ultimate vape I bought a box full of various mods and attys.

Refillable atomizers that hold 4-5ml juice are a great way to vape without having to refill so often.

Fasttech has extra cartridges and batteries. Also kits that have just the battery and cartridges with no case.

Don't know anything specific about possible risks of ceramic coils/wicks. I just know that they don't seem to have caused any problems for me after about a dozen years. It also seems to me that something as heavy as a ceramic particle would have a hard time making it out of the atty in the first place, then an even harder time making it past your mouth.

I'm using an Eleaf ceramic coil now and I'm still alive. Seriously, as there are various metals, acrylic, silicon and other stuff in the vapour path I'm not extra worried

You must have the Standard kit, I was offered the MAC kit with the case, it's not released yet. It's a good point about only one battery, I don't think the Standard kit is that pricey is it?
