Im getting sick of my bottome coil stuff and I keep getting wick flavoring from them. I have a PT2, Unitank, Aro and T3.

The PT2 gives me a lot of hot/wick tasting hits, needs constant priming and fidgeting. The Unitank is pretty much the same as the PT2. The Aro gives a dry wick like hit less often but, produces very little vapor. Last of all my T3's that I used to love seem to be giving off a milking plastic undertone, much like the flavor of the wick. Im not sure if my sense of taste is better now or if the tanks are now benig produced with thicker wicks.....I dont know...no idea.

I just know I need a device with good taste that I can chain vape. I dont want topers though because, I dont like the idea of a sillica octopus living in my tank, swimming around in the juice. Also I havent considered the carto tanks until now because, Im still changing flavors pretty often and Im not sure how difficult that would be with a carto.

Any ideas from fellow chain vapers?

You're kind of at odds here. You want to chain vape, and at the same time want to change juices often. IMO - For chain vaping, a carto tank is the most practical, but... for a "flavor changer"... just cartos by themselves.
As a cartomizer is only a little over a buck, you can have several going... and the ones you like, you can punch a few holes in them and slide them into tanks.
IBT sells first class carto tanks in sizes from 15 to 25mm in diameter, and 35-45mm in height (and perhaps the 55mm XXL too, I've not looked personally)... so you can have a good size tank going that will last all day - maybe two.

What is it about carto tanks that makes them better for chain vaping? I could probably live with not being able to change flavors often because, I usually order a ton of juice then sample it all. I tend to be a bit picky about complex flavors as well so, normally I just vape Nicquid mintoid because its simiple and fast.

Depending on size, carto tanks can hold from 3 to as much as 8-9ml... and that's not counting the 1-2ml in the carto itself. A good quality carto can last, depending on the juice and voltage applied, 4-10 or more days.

I'm just throwing it out there - bottom feeder with a 510 dripping atomizer or a RDA. Something like a VMOD or a REO.

Has a 6 or 9ml on-board juice storage and if you lose the slight gurgle (or the vapor gets light), you just squeeze (squonk) the bottle and you have a fully primed, ready-to-go atomizer filled with your favorite juice.
No silica wicks to taste, and changing a flavor is as easy as changing a clearo - just unscrew the bottle, screw in the new one and vape.

Great flavor, great vapor, no hassle. Worth a look.

This is interesting. Can you link to the devices you are talking about? I want to make sure im looking at the right model. I found a V-MOD XL and it looks like what youre talkin about but, I want to be sure. How does it vaporize if it doesnt have a wick??? I like the idea of that because I cant stop noticing the nasty taste of the wicks in my bottom coils.
Its really boggling my mind. I can't figure out why no one else seems to taste what im tasting with my PT2 and unitanks. I guess figuring that out is its own issue though.

Well im not worried about volume as much as I am sucking the wick dry. I seem to be having a great deal of trouble trying to get rid of wick flavors. I need something that will wet the wick very quickly. Will Cartos do that?

Not having to deal with a silica wick and it's ability (or lack thereof) to keep delivering liquid to the coil fast enough (due to chain vaping) is the main reason.

Of course some people say that they think the filler material of the cartomizer has an un-pleasant taste too. I personally don't find that.

As to the rubbery taste you mentioned, coming from your PT2, there's some discussion that one of the rubber grommets on the PT heads may be causing that particular issue. It may be burning just enough to flavor the vape. Phil Busardo has a couple of pics on his website "Taste Your Juice" of the new heads that Kanger is releasing and they have changed that rubber grommet to silicone, which should not burn. The idea being that this fixes the burned rubber taste that a lot of folks are unhappy about.

I am like you and I like to change my flavors a lot. I use a dripper. An Igo-L costs about ten bucks and it has no juice storage it's just a coil a wick usually of cotton (super cheap), the drip tip can be pulled out and you drip 5 or 6 drops into it and vape away for 4-5 puffs. Getting tired of the flavor your using then start dripping a new fluid. If the fluids are complimentary just go right in. If not then you need to throw in a new piece of cotton. The vape you will get off of even an ego twist is unreal. I build my coils at 2-2.5 ohm and I get huge flavor and great clouds. You can also play with some mixes and you will find some great ones and some not so great ones but it is pretty easy to change. If you like the flavor then start looking at a Reo if the flavor is what you like. They are not cheap. Although I have not heard a single person who has one say I don't like it. They are all fans big time. Here is a link to a dripping atomizer called the Igo-L this is a chinese vendor but the pictures are good so you can see the detail. If you were to order from them it takes about 3 weeks to get to the US if there are no problems.

^^This :) Great info to speed you on your way, if you want to go with a cartotank.

Obviously there are other options such as bottom feeders, as InTheShade mentioned. :vapor:

The VMOD XL is what I use as my daily driver. I've had it since August and it's excellent. Now, it's not for everyone, some people love them, some hate them.

VMOD.jpg

Pros - stated in my previous post mainly. Add in that it takes an 18650 battery so it will last all day (even with heavy use)
It takes most bottom holed 510 atomizers and with good care, they can last for months.

Cons - it can take a little bit to learn when to squeeze the bottle. You will get dry hits (that are pretty horrible) when you forget to squonk it. You might also flood it, which usually means just a very weak vape, but it can spit hot juice at you.
The chasis of the VMOD is made of plastic and some have reported durability issues. However, I have seen numerous people report (on ECF) that they contacted vapage and they got them replaced under warranty. I've had no issues with it.
It's a non-regulated mod, so that means if you are using a 2ohm or more atomizer, it will be fine with a fresh battery, but as the day goes on, it will get weaker. I usually use either a Kidney Puncher brand long barrel atty or a vapage slant coil hybrid atty at 1.5ohms.

VMOD 2.0 and VMOD XL < Use code PBF334 for 50% off, making it $62.49 (not sure if this is still valid) for the VMOD XL full kit.

As for the REO, there is a whole forum dedicated to the REO here. I am about to order my first this week, so I cannot comment about them, but I have no hesitation in recommending them. I don't usually recommend something I have not used myself, but just take a look and read around the forum. There are literally hundreds of happy REOnauts here. They work in a similar way to the VMOD but they have their own pros and cons.

It's about time you got yourself one SoF, then you can't forget :)

You're a tinkerer, I am surprised you haven't ventured down this path yet sir.
I'd like one, but I'm very poor and live in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass.

I build all the coils for a friend with 4 of them (he has fine motor control issues)... he may be getting me a bare metal one for Christmas.

We'll just have to wait and see if I become a Reonaut or just remain a "Reo-not".

I wish there was a double-like button, made me spit vape out of my nose.

The V-mod looks pretty interesting im going to check that out as well as the igo-L and REO. Maybe in a last attempt to be lazy ill try taking a flavor wick out of the PT2. But this information has been pretty helpful because, Ive been a bit confused about where to go from the bottom coil tanks.. I have no idea what most of you are talking about so ill have to start reading about these things lol.
