All these issues are taking me deeper into disatisfaction with this whole vaping thing. Im starting to see why people dont do this or end up giong back to analogs lol. I had no problem with my X2s and T3s for the longest time. My evic and protank two set up has a really odd flavor too. Im getting paranoid I think. The smell of the vapor left in the PT2 tube could burn your sinuses lol. It smells like a dirty carpet or something. Not at all like the clean taste I got when I first started vaping. Im gonna miss this crap if i end up giving up on it lol. The part when it was good anyway.

vaping is not like smoking. You have to do a little research and some trial and error to get to a place you are having consistency from you equipment. There is most defiantly a learning curb if anyone tells you different its a lie. Most make it threw the learning curb because they can see the light at the end of the tunnel. They can stop smoking with vaping.

If you really want to quit smoking with Vaping shoot me a PM Ill send you my phone number and Ill be happy to help you with your issues. We can sort out in 10min of phone conversation what might take 10 pages of Q and A in the forum.

I love the idea of a vaping helpline. Lol. Very nice offer.

Buzzlove, and all others who mentioned it, have it right. There is a definite learning curve. Once you get really familiar with your devices you can troubleshoot much more easily and quickly.

Are these unit using specialized threading? Are they standard EGO-style threading?

The Smokeless Image website does not state what connection type they are, so I am assuming it's a proprietary setup. (That sucks because then you're permanently wed to their product line.)

IF they are not proprietary connections then buy yourself some Kanger T3S tanks instead. Kanger makes a good quality product, they're less expensive than what you're using and you are able to just change out the coil head rather than having to replace the entire base assembly.

I have friends who vape stong fruity-flavored ejuices and they have more issues with burnt flavor and such. I believe it has something to do with the flavorings used and some use sucralose as a sweetener.

I exclusively vape NET-based ejuices with a 50-50 VG-PG ratio. But everyone has different tastes though. That's why there's hundreds of flavors on the market.

I truly hope you're able to resolve your issues with these units. It's really a bummer when you've invested money into equipment and then find that issues are popping up.

Well I actually have an evic with a pt2 and a couple unitanks. I'm usually vaping menthol. I think flavor issues come up with lightet flavors. When I vape nicquids gen7 previously (rebel) I never notice flavor issues. I think a lot of people dony notice because the use thick or darker liquids. I just removed a flavor wick from my t3.
It seems to have lessened the dry hit problem. I think SI didn't have as much wicking in their earlier heads.
I'm thinking this because I used to get flooding a lot. Also I remember the wicks being barely visible.

It seems like it would be a good idea to put the majority of wicking in the coil rather than on top of it.
I'm goin to try removing a flavor wick from my pro tanks as well. I've heard taking half a wick out is best but, I'm not even sure how to do that.

The Unitank *might* be part of the problem. I have had fantastic experiences with the PT2s, but not so much with the Unitank. My hits seemed to be all over the place, very inconsistent, AND all my flavor either got muted or completely disappeared! Since they use the same heads as the PT2, I am really confused on how that could happen, but it did. I even experimented with the same juice (from the same batch), by moving the coil from the PT2 to the Unitank, and definitely noticed the change.

I would strongly recommend trying different tanks until you find one that works best for you.

As always, YMMV!

I use tweezers to pull strands of the wick out. Do this when the wick is wet with juice and it's much easier. If dry, you'll just pull the entire wick out.

Also, removing a flavor wick, when using really thin juices (high PG content) may result in leaking. So if you do remove some/or all of a flavor wick and you start getting gurgling or severely reduced vapor, check your battery post for liquid leaks.

One more thing..if you start to get burnt flavors you may be getting a buildup of burnt juice on your wicks. Again, cleaning those (hot water rinse) will remove most of the build-up and restore the lost flavor/vapor.
Cheers! :toast:

I've experienced this on multiple brand new heads and devices and I can't figure out what in the world is wrong - I finally bought some rebuilt heads from Mountain Vapors that have hemp wicks instead of silica, and found that the oddest thing is that my 100% VG juice from VCV seems to somehow wick the best in those (despite being the thickest in my stock!), but the problem even with these heads are still dry tinges (which are nowhere near as bad with hemp - dryish hemp doesn't taste bad and it's great for testing!) and extremely muted flavor.

One thing I'm wondering is - could the electricity in our houses be effecting the vape? I bought a battery not long ago, and when I used it straight out of the package without charging, my clearomizer had a tremendously clean, good, flavorful vape... it was one of the best vaping experiences I had. Then I charged the battery. Instantly bad vape after that. Not a good one since, with multiple new heads. I notice that my house causes lightbulbs to shoot like crazy - one goes out every week. Any chance there could be something to this?
