In fact, better than the Bloog Cartos which overheat and burn. I guess the RiV4L's prefer a higher voltage.
I'm not quite ready to pronounce that problem licked, but I think it might finally be. My engineer came up with a three-pronged solution, which so far is holding up in my testing. One, we raised the resistance just slightly to between 2.6 and 2.8, two, we raised the coil 1.5mm higher and are using a tool to help consistent placement, and three we increased the wick from 4 strands to 5 strands to improve wicking.
I've been using the latest blanks with 100%VG on a 5V passthrough, and so far no burnt taste. Well, except for the Kamel flavor's usual smokey flavor that is. Which, BTW is one reason I am not 100% confident the solutions worked; I need a lighter flavored VG juice to test with.
Anyway, the other reason is that they implemented the solution in mid production stream, so I'm not sure which cartos from the latest batch have the improved design and which don't. I'm mostly but not entirely certain the new blanks that arrived in NJ today have the design changes. So anyone who buys them, let me know how they do.
Future batches will have the refined design, and will be labeled "MF V2" so you know. But that won't start until they PRINT the stickers, so not on the next couple of shipments.
