What is the significance of 510,901,306...ect

I understand its referring to the size or type of the connector. But in what way?

Surely these numbers are not just random. And if they were simply names the vendors would use something more likely to stick in the consumers mind I.E. 666, 069 ect.

I also don't believe it is reference to thread size (510 is 7.5mm). At least in any way I have been able to figure.

I know its kinda a stupid question. Just got thinking about this today and its eating a hole in my brain.

Good question! I don't know for sure, but I don't think it is a number describing the threading, like number of turns per mm. The reason I say that is because a KR808d-1 has the same threading as a 901. And a 306 will fit a 510. And a 905 screwdriver uses a 901 atty. So that theory is out the window! I'm going to say that they are just model numbers, nothing more.
