Hi, so I had a thread earlier about how my mom wanted a analog-like e-cig, even though she loves her pink 510 riva (and is no longer smoking! Yay!) She specifically wanted a pack of smokes like PCC so I got her this kit
Patriot PCC E-Cigarette Starter Kit - My Freedom Smokes

Unfortunately they only had black kits left, and I was confused because I assumed the PCC would be black, not the battery & Cartomizer too, but it's still a great price for a PCC kit, so I bought it,

It came in the mail today, with no PCC, just two batteries and a strange looking cartomizer. The cartomizer had a white body with a black tip, it was wider in circumfrance than the battery, and about half the length of the battery, creating a really funky looking e-cig.

I called my freedom smokes, they where really nice about it, it turns out they sent me the regular Kr808 kit, not the PCC kit. They're going to send out the right kit along with a shipping label so I can return this one, but I'm still drawing a blank on the cartomizer.
What is this thing? Why is it so big, multi colored, and wide? It looks more like a mod to me, not that I would know.

They're supposed to call me back, so I'll ask them directly, but I was wondering if any of you awesome people had some insight?

No idea. I don't even understand what you are asking about.

If their cartomizers are wider than the battery then maybe they put their own colored skins on the cartos - that would make them a bit wider. Or may be they are some kind of jumbo cartomizer. Those aren't even standard KR8 cartos. Standard ones have an air channel cut across the central pole of the threaded end and work on both auto and manual batteries. They look like DSE901 cartos to me (DSE901 is same width and threads as KR8 but different air flow between carto and battery).

If you are asking about the batteries, every decent slim ecig is a bit thicker than a cigarette. They should be about 9mm diameter, 510, KR8, DSE901 are all about 9mm diameter.

IMO it could even be a DSE901 kit since out of all KR8s and 901s I have only ever seen that style of PCC for auto 901 batteries and never for and KR8s and especially not for manual KR8.

2011-04-119515-27-4395442.jpg Sorry about the confusion, here's a picture. The cartomizers are on the side, and that's my main question- These don't look like standard cartomizers.

I assumed that this was a kr808 kit because although it's labeled "Patriot" it says that the batteries are compatible with kr808s

KR808D-1 should not have any push-on carts or atomizer at all

KR808D-1 is a 2-piece model that uses a battery and a screw-on cartomizer (cartomizer is a disposable combined cart and atty in one screw-on piece). So I am guessing their note under the Patriot kit that it's compatible with KR808D batteries does not mean it IS a KR8.

I guess it is a DSE901 kit (a 3-piece ecig) and they gave you the wrong kind of cartridge

Just show the vendor the photo and ask them. Tell them people on ECF can't figure out what the heck it is. He'll make it right quickly once he knows you are showing it on ECF

The photo of the model I bought appears to be a kr808- it shows the batteries and the screw on cartomizers, I'm thinking that they just gave me the completely wrong model. They said they would call me back, instead they sent me a message, I responded with my question but they never responded, so I'll shoot them an e-mail with the picture (And mention ECF lol) Thanks!
