What is wrong with me?

i read what all of you and the reviewers say but...

1) I can't taste those minute subtle flavours in juice. Custard tastes nothing like custard I eat, whether that be diy or premade. Sweetness comes through ejuice but that's about it. I can never taste Apple properly or lemon. The flavours are sometimes nice but never, ever match the description.
2) Steeping juice makes barely any difference whatsoever. The flavours don't noticeably come together or the taste get more intense.
3) Tanks and rdas are so different but flavour difference isn't that noticeable either. The kayfun tastes slightly better but it's not night and day.
4) Different coils (apart from ramp up time and looks) make no difference imo. A fused parallel Clapton is pretty much the same as a simple kanthal.
5) Whether I use rayon, or cotton not much changes. I don't like silica but that's because it's awkward for me.
6) Watts make a huge difference to batteries and vapour, but no difference to flavour. Ppl constantly go on about the extra 15 watts releasing more or less flavour.
7) I get no difference between the inhale and the exhale tastes. Just like when I smoked. Slightly diff temp of the exhale.

Sorry for my rant, but am I really that wrong??? What's wrong with my tongue

I am happy with my setup but I just wondered am I just weird or is everyone telling porkies?

How long have you been vaping? Cigarettes can deaden your tastebuds and they take some time to recover. If you're still pretty new to this that might be the case. Most juices do have very distinct flavors.

I have a less sensitive tongue too, I feel your pain. I don't get all the nuance of flavor a more sensitive taster would get. Just like there are super tasters, there are muggle tasters like us.

Been vaping for 1 year 7 months. I use high and low wattage, mechs, drippers, kayfuns and many types of high end attys. Greek high end stuff, I diy and buy premium juice.
Just none of it really makes a diff. My high end devices give me a beautiful vape and a lovely draw and great engineering can be appreciated. It's just the flavour.

Mothers milk: The signature flavour of Suicide Bunny, Mother's Milk is a complex blend of mouthwatering flavours. The initial flavour is a beautifully creamy custard which then develops into a sweet strawberry flavour on the exhale. It is widely regarded as an excellent all day vape, and we totally agree.

I know this is just good advertising but really??

I think most commercial juice is over flavored (for the new converts) and it quickly desensitizes your taste buds.

I've been vaping about as long as you but have almost no experience with many variables. My setup (see blow) stays exactly the same day by day and month after month. A difference I notice and cant explain is how throat hit changes as wicking and/or the coils age. My DIY recipe is super clean. There is virtually no gunking yet flavor and throat hit are improved if I rewick twice a week and rebuild once every two weeks. I don't mind but wish I understood the factors involved.

When you eat things there are several senses involved in your perception, sight, smell, taste and texture. All contribute to your perception of the experience.

I have a good palate, my wife is practically taste-blind. She loves those powerful smelling car fresheners that you clip on the heat vents. I have to air out her car before I can drive it. She will occasionally taste my vape and most of the time she will compare it to a cookie, maple syrup, or some other obscure thing, this is with tobacco flavors. I've had her taste a cigar flavored juice and she said it had no taste, yet to me it is a strong cigar flavor. She does not know she is taste-blind and probably scent perception impaired, because she always relied on her other senses to interpret how she liked or didn't like different foods or beverages. Vapor is kind of a blind test, because you only get taste and smell to go on.

Oh, and she never smoked...

I guess your all telling the truth though.
Burnt hits I can taste, and sweetness, but that's about it. Horrible

I also have a hard time and a juice has to be pretty strong for me to taste it. It is very aggravating and I feel your pain. When I DIY I'll add a bit more flavor. Tobaccos I don't have a problem with it's just my flavors that will give me trouble.

Exactly my thoughts also. I like unflavored every now and then. Slightly sweet and not bad to refresh.

I know this is just good advertising but really??

Oh, aye. I can taste most flavors. Sometimes I can't identify what I'm tasting, or it doesn't taste like what it's supposed to, but there are distinct flavors. As mentioned I also usually can't stand professional mixes which are far too strong and I have to dilute. You may just have different sensitivities in your taste and olfactory senses.
