I wanted to but my cat just crawled onto my lap and I don't have the heart to disrupt her just yet, but she's just gonna have to move soon.
Cat finally left so I tried it. Since my buds and nose were OK anyway, not really an improvement, but it did smell good. Dusty (the cat) wanted to smell also. Probably shouldn't have let her but she seemed so despondent when I said no that I just let her have a quick sniff. After she bounced off the walls and chased Mr Eko (the other cat) around for about an hour things got back to normal.

She was staring at the coffee can when I got up this morning but I'm just not gonna start fixing her a cup every day, she needs to learn to do it herself.

Heh. I accidentally spilled a few fresh coffee grounds on the kitchen floor and Jackson (one of my mom's yorkies, he's pretty big for a yorkie though) hustled over to 'em and ate 'em all up. He seemed to like it, but it didn't give him the boost of energy that I thought it might.

Probably not healthy for dogs.....

So, I've got what I've heard other people call "vaper mouth" and I'd appreciate your advice.

:vapor:

I sympathize - I get that too & it is extremely frustrating.

If it is that kind of filmy feeling in the mouth brushing teeth & toungue can sometimes help, but for me what I have found to work best is something hot like a Thai chili - I find a bite of ginger root also works extremely well.

Good luck!

Switching to a vape with a ginger flavor is a good change of pace for the taste buds as well.
Does anyone know of any besides Halo's Smooth8? I say "besides" because they are
supposedly phasing it out.
Bummer.

My husband and I are currently suffering Vaper Mouth, we are just a couple weeks out from having quit smoking so we were pretty upset that the one thing that got us to quit smoking after more than 45 years of smoking suddenly tasted bland to bad. We tried pure PG, we tried pure VG we tried menthol, cinnamon and other strong tobacco flavors, nothing worked.

We came to the forum and did a search and found this, the coffee didn't work, so we were even more bummed, but we started rummaging around and found some menthol-lyptus cough drops and they did help, plan on sucking on menthol cough drops before we go to bed, maybe it will refresh the buds by morning.

We are also in the beginning of allergy season here in Florida and there are brush fires all around us so this isn't helping either.

This is crunch time for us, quitting has never been easier but we were concerned we were never going to be able to taste the vapor again, and were worried we might not stick with the zero analog policy if everything tasted flat.

Thank you for being there for us and assuring us that we will be OK after a while...we were really on a bummer....

Just wanted to drop by today and say that we took your good advice and started changing flavors after every other vape, we also drank more water, sipped after a couple vapes and before retiring we brushed the mouth and tongue followed by a very strong mouthwash rinse to get rid of the buildup, we then had a menthol cough drop each and took an allergy pill. (severe allergy season and brush fires here).

Today things are much better, we can taste the vapor again, and are continuing to switch flavors and sipping more water. We are also going to have a custom batch of Ginger made up for us at our local vape house, as suggested. The coffee thing did not work for us but perhaps we were just too far gone, will try again when we have our senses fully returned to us.

Thank you so much for your advice, vapor mouth is not a nice thing to experience and I hope others will head your advice instead of just turning back to the analogs. These things you suggest do work and it just takes overnight to experience the difference!

Try unflavored... I've been vapeing it for two weeks. It's like a reset for the taste buds. I love it! I've been vapeing for a year now... I have phases where I like a variety of flavors fruits, red hots, Carmel, cowboy, pluid.. Unflavored is actually fantastic. I have Vaped my favs: cowboy, DIY red hots, and Pluid still but mainly only unflavored for the time being..., it really brings out the other flavors.

I am so glad you have experienced some improvement - you may find the vaper's tongue comes and goes but it is easier to cope with it once you have experienced that it is not a permanent thing and just a matter of time and the various little tricks that work for your mouth.

Good for you both for hanging in and not going back to smoking!

I had the same problem. I quickly realized that even the bad or weak tasting liquids tasted better that the Pall Malls I had been smoking so I just made up my mind to vape anyway, no matter the taste or lack of.
