So, I use 100mg/ml nic base, and I got a gallon of PG and VG for $50. Flavors I got for $1.49 for 10ml...

If there was ANY possible way I could use all that PG and VG at the prices I paid I'm looking at around three cents per ml. This is barring waste of course, but wow. Granted, there are other minor costs and variances but even doubled that's pretty amazing to me.

So far I made two 50ml bottles, and four 30ml bottles. Even if I threw away my supplies now I broke even and I have enough to make 800ml without spending more than another couple dollars on flavoring. So, if I bought four more bottles of flavor, and throw leftover PG/VG and flavors when my nic bottle is gone I am at seven cents per ml. I owe it all to this place and the sharing of information here. You guys rock.

My DIY is running me about .11 per mil., excluding the shipping prices I pay for my supplies and the cost of things I use over and over again, like cups, syringes, and bottles. I'm not buying flavoring or VG in bulk, but once I do, it should go down a little bit more. $1.49 per 10 ml sounds like a good price for flavorings. I'm paying that for 6 ml now at One Stop DIY Shop. Where are you buying yours from?

Although buying in bulk may save money up front, it may cost you more in the long run. Only stock adequate supplies IMO. PG has a shelf life of 2 years and most glycerins 1.5 yrs. Ditto for flavourings.

1 US gal = 3785ml or 125 30ml bottles
1 Imp gal =4731ml or 157 30ml bottles

So if one vapes 3 x 30ml bottles a month = avg vaper you have over a 40 month supply +, plus because their is other ingredients in our liquids. Well over it's expiry date. IMHO 500ml is more than adequate for even the most frugal of vapers.

I totally get that, and I mentioned my costs were skewed by the fact that I got a gallon of PG and VG. Honestly, the cost was so low that if I get through 1/3 of it I am ahead of the game. It wasn't part of my original plan, but I don't regret it.

I have a chest freezer also, and will probably remove some from both bottles and move the remainder to the freezer. I fully expect from what I read that I should be fine with it for two years. If not, no loss at all...my cost per ml just comes closer to normal.

Someone just spent $.49/ml for CVS VG. thinkingaboutit spent less than $.007/ml (including $hipping). Toss two thirds away and still be money way ahead!

In my case, I mix for myself and my v-verts. So I don't think I'll be tossing any out any time soon.

DIY juices are dirt cheap, and you can be very creative with it as well when you have lots of extracts. Where I get into the donuts is my PV's and cartos/atomizers. I want to buy a rebuildable tank, and theoretically that would have me set for a long, long time. But I am having too much fun with the "hobby" aspect of vaping truth be told, so it will probably be just another weapon in the arsenal. I actually spend more time/money vaping then I did Smoking. I used to roll my own at about 60cents a pack. I look at it as a reward for being a good boy!
Right now if I quit buying anything for a year I could Vape like a king daily, and still have a .... load left over. I always like to keep adequate supplies though in case of tax hikes, government interference etc.
I just mixed up a beautiful batch of my "red-eye". This consists of 50% usa mix PG blend 24mg, 50% VG, a healthy squirt of Caramel, coffee, and cinnamon. Whenever I hand it to anybody to try, their eyes get wide with excitement! thatt is some good Juice!

I am working on a couple co workers, and already mix for my gf. The gf gets my services free. The co workers can get me cheap because I am having so much fun. I'll probably let them have a killer deal and show them all the good vendors who make more complicated flavors than I do. I figure if I supply some to two people it can cover my costs and still give them a massive deal or cover my new flavors.

Thanks for putting it like that. I've been looking at ingredients and would get totally lost. Counting backwards gives me an idea where to start.

I've recently had to make the switch to 0 nic on doctors orders, and have found myself vaping nearly 30ml/day - I've started DIYing the vast majority of my juice thanks to all the time currently on my hands (medical leave), and for the sake of my bank account. I still order some of the more complex juices I love, but am enjoying my DIY juices a great deal, and have absolutely no concerns about going through a gallon each of PG & VG well before their best by dates :) (yes, I know I'm an anomaly!)

I'm always looking for great deals on DIY flavoring though, and am having a bit of a love affair with the more concentrated juices (HC has surprisingly good concentrated juices that don't leave a chemical taste). Open to suggestions for other great sources :)
