What is your experience with the PT?

The reason I ask is because I want to order one, but I haven't had good luck with these in the past.

I've owned 3 different PTs for my 901 from 3 different vendors. Not a single one lasted more than 10 days.

The first one lasted one day -- almost caught on fire before I could get it out of my USB port. Wow, was that thing hot!

The manual button stuck on the second one with pretty much the same result as above; this one lasted all of one week.

The 3rd one I got -- worked fine for about 10 days, then died.

So, how long can I expect the VK PT to work? I love all of the V4L products so far, but I don't want to burn my apartment down, LOL.

I have the auto one and it doesn't have a battery alone the USB line like my 510 does and the vapor..WOW....love it! Haven't had an issue at all yet

The VK passthrough is of a much higher quality than pretty much any other passthrough out there. I have mine plugged into my iphone charger, and it's my primary source of vapor while at home. I absolutely love it. Runs at a little higher voltage than the batteries(or at the very least doesn't drop as much when you activate it), puts out a ton of vapor. I highly recommend it.

Unless something is drastically wrong with your 5v in your computer...which i really doubt cause it'd smoke before you got a chance to plug in a passthrough...im more than a little puzzled!

I'm usin the same one i got in august..my wife is usin another i got at the same time, i have some manuals too (all VK) and theyre all workin like a champ...how you coulda gotten such a bad run of passthroughs is beyond belief!?!..and i mean from any supplier!

I wont use my auto on my 901 junk..i use the manuals for that cause theyre sealed and as such, are far safer for leakin satan spawned useless 901 gear..but i have to keep it around for juice reviews.

Even if you leaked juice in them all, the chances that they'd all explode are slim unless you really drowned them in it.

I have no idea how they died or why, but i wouldn't say I "baby" mine..and theyre all still workin. I even take one to work and plug it into a 2 amp USB wall wart regularly.

You do have to keep your ear to the ground on carts though..they *will* incinerate a cart if youre not faithfully watching for that slight burnt taste or whopping vapor with no flavor....if you put an empty cart on one, it'll go from zero to smoked due to the massive power that is VK passthrough

I love mine! Used my auto PT until my manual PT arrived. I have been using it every night since with no problems, granted that has only been a few weeks, but working like a beast!

My computer isn't even 2 years old yet, and I don't think there's anything wrong with the voltage.

So guess it's just my bad luck or possibly poor quality. All of these were manual button 901 PTs.

Thanks for the replies; I have more confidence about ordering the VK one. I plan to use it with a USB wall plug, just in case there might be something wrong with my computer port. Don't really think there is since everything else works there, but better safe than sorry.

Oh, I just wanted to add in case anyone jumped to the wrong conclusion:

None of these were from V4L. I bought those way before I found this place and Steve's wonderful products and his great service.

I love my passthrough!!! I have both the auto and the manual and still prefer my auto. I seriously take it everywhere I go. I have a kinsington charger that allows me to use my PT in bed and around the house. I have a car adapter that I use when driving. I often joke that I am going to have it permanently sutured to my face, but really that isn't far from the truth. My VK passthrough outperforms every other PT I own. The vapor kicks!!!! You can overheat a cartomizer a lot faster with these (which is actually a benefit for kicking the dust off of a new cart) so I keep a few cartomizers around to switch through when I get overzealous...which is a lot...just get one already!

I am a die hard 901 fan! I have a manual 901 passthrough that I love...until I got my Vk auto passthrough. It is just killer! I had never tried a cartomizer ..lovin that too. I may have to give the VK manual a go too.
I can't say enough for trips, it got me to Tampa and back with tons of running around on one cart. Unbelievable! Thanks Steve

Thanks everyone, I'm definitely going to order one. I usually order the manual stuff, but now I'm not sure if I want the auto PT or the manual PT. Decisions, decisions.

I'll be honest, I got one that had an issue, but Steve fixed the problem by sending me a new one on my next order. I now own 2 and they work GREAT! For well over 3 months now, and it's what I use most of the time when sitting at my PC. They are definitely worth it!

I love my passthru....once Steve gets in his passthru chargers, I will be in vaping heaven. I love to vape via passthru, but the voltage I get off my laptop is kinda sluggish.

I use mine all the time! It is an automatic, I did have one incident... I was at a friend's place, and had to run to the bathroom, so i stuck the corded end under a bag of wasabe peas, cause I didn't want the cart on his dirty desk. I guess it was enough to seal the end and trigger it. No big deal, but they can be triggered just like the batteries. The cart was hot, but there was no damage to anything
