Hi all,

I am somewhat new to vaping (approximately 6 months on and off but 3 weeks full time, no anologs at all).

I'd like to get some feedback to your vaping pattern. For example, do you vape 8-10 puffs and then not vape at all for 10 mins/30 mins/1 hour kind of like when you smoked analogs or do you tend to take one puff every 2 or 3 minutes.

What I am trying to find out is the general vaping quantities and what level of vaping seems to be optimal on a daily basis and the kinds of vapiny pattern that would likely cause you to have elevated nicotine levels or feeling over-vaped for the day.

What quantity/frequency of vapes is considered 'heavy vaping' to you?

I am still experimenting with the amount I vape and of course it's tempting to just vape constantly. I find that if I vape too much I will either get elevated nicotine levels (I vape 18 mg mostly with some 24 mg) or my taste buds will start to go raspy and dry I won't enjoy vaping as much at that point. I will have to stop vaping for a period of time. If I heavy vape sometimes I will find I have some sinus blockage, a high susceptability to elevated nicotine levels the following day or the juices won't taste as good due to the inundation of PG/VG during the day before.

On a heavy day I will find that I am taking maybe 8-10 puffs every 10 minutes for a while, and sometimes, a puff or two every minute for 30 minutes or a whole hour, especially if I am on the phone or driving. That is a heavy session of vaping for me. It will usually be at night when I seem to vape the most, especially before bed,

Any other tips, scientific/medical input that can be brought to light on this subject of vaping frequency or interesting personal views?

And finally, is it true to say that the more vapor, the more nicotine you are getting from each puff, all other things being equal. Should I be vaping less frequently when I go to higher voltages?

Thanks

Anthony

My vape habits vary with what I am doing. I most always have my PV with me. At work it is a cape maybe every 10-15 minutes, when I am driving I only stop when I need to let my atty/carto cool down. At home, it is the same as at work, unless I am working with my horses. My usage is around 3-5ml/day. I mostly use 24mg with 36mg every now and then.

No pattern here either, I vape when I feel like it, more when I'm at the computer or just chillin and less when I'm out and about keeping busy. That's another great thing about vaping imo, we don't have to take smoke breaks and get more things done.

If you want to keep track of it use ml per day as a guide, it's easier to keep up with and compare that way rather than trying to track how many draws your taking in a specific amount of time and it all evens out in the end.

I don't have a pattern. I vape my azz off before work & on my way to work. during work only about 4x in a 12 hour shift.........then on my way home I vape it hard again.........once I get home I usually switch up the mods & juices unless i'm too tired or lazy & sorta "chill vape" till I fall asleep.......................
sleep
wake up
repeat

I vape mostly at home and when in the car, 5-10 inhales of 12mg nicotine e-juice, every hour or so.. more when I'm tethered to the computer or driving any sort of distance (I friggin HATE to drive).

I work from home frequently, so when I'm working on something that requires a lot of focus I vape more. When I'm in the office I take a couple "vape breaks" throughout the day and go hang out with the smokers (again 5-10 puffs).

I vape low enough nicotine that I've never really had a problem with being "over" nicotined. As with analogs, it helps to make me feel more relaxed and helps my brain focus when I need it (without all the nasty stuff that's in the cancer sticks)

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Most respondents to this post said they use about 3 ml of liquid. The only problem with me is that I am not using just one liquid. I am using several so it's hard to gauge how much I used in the space of a day. I doubt it is more than 3 ml though. Might be as much as 5ml but that would be the limit.

I vape in the office, so at no stage during the day am I taking a lengthy spell away from vaping so I need to consciously temper the amount I vape in one day or I get elevated nicotine levels. Not being able to vape for a while (even if it's 30-60 minutes) makes those first few vapes feel divine as the body takes in nicotine. The throat hit feels fantastic when I haven't vaped for a while.

That sounds like a more sensible vaping pattern. I haven't actually counted but I reckon I am vaping 30 or 40 inhales an hour during those peak 'vapor' hours. Occasionally during the day I will go half hour to an hour or more without vaping at all but when I am driving, or at home, watching tv, talking on the phone, I will be vaping constantly, with maybe a minute or less between vapes and there will be times when I am taking 3 or 4 hits in a minute. I am vaping 18 mg but occasionally mix it up with 11 mg. I also vape 24 mg at times because some of the vendors I get my juices from sell their samplers in one strength - 24 mg.

During work days, I vape like I did cigs. Head out, vape for 5 mins, and I'm good for a couple of hours. When I get home, now it's a different story. I vape like a fiend.

If you want to just chain vape all day, how 'bout you just dial down the nic? Or, since you're using several different ones, have one that's little to no nic, and vape that to your heart's content. When you crave, drip one of your other juices to satiate it. And you won't have to worry too much about elevated nic levels.

If I do keep experiencing elevated nicotine levels I will drop down or consciously try and vape less. But isn't vaping too much detrimental to health because of the amount of PG/VG being introduced into the system? Sometimes, it's not the nicotine that is affecting me. I find that if I vape alot I may get dry mouth, be unable to really taste the juices and sometimes I will get congestion in the sinus passages and in the chest.

Surely it can't be good to put anything into the lungs for sustained periods of time apart from air?

More or less just like real cigaretts. Once about every half hour during the day--around ten drags. Much more when I get up in the morning. I do keep my ecig dangling from my mouth to I still get the flavor a lot. A manual battery helps me do this.

Three weeks into full vape mode. The wife vapes hers as she would with an analog... 5 - 8 puffs and then put it down. I jump back and forth. Just starting, I've been vaping a puff every minute or so. Other times, I'll think I need to slow it down, and treat it like a cig break. 8 - 10 and then put it down.

Unfortunately, I went on a juice spending spree and have to sample my 65 flavors. So, this week, I'm probably back to hitting it often.

If I'm sitting still it seems like I'm constantly puffing. If I'm not I don't. I use just over 2 ml a day so I don't think that's too bad.

Wow, that really puts it into perspective. From my understanding, 1 ml equates to about 20 drops. I don't know how many mils I am going through because I vary from bottle to bottle but if I had to put a count on the amount of times I drip during the day, assuming that each dripping session is 3 drops, I am dripping about 30 times a day. So I must be going through 5 mls a day!

lol I've done the same thing! I've just recently gotten liquids from Vaperite, BWB and Alien Vision, about 30 different liquids and I've still got some from FSUSA from a previous order I haven't tried yet including samplers so it's damn hard to stick to an analog routine of 8-10 puffs every half an hour.

It's too late for me to drop down in nico levels with all the liquids I've got but I've started to 'try' and treat my e-cigs like an every 20 minutes or so treat rather than a drag-a-minute.
