I have always stated that cigarete smoking to me was more of a ritual and no t just nicotine.
Tapping the pack
Packing the cig
Lighting with my zippo (never butane)
Enjoying the first drag
If someone offered me a cig they lit i didnt enjoy it. It interrupted my ritual.
Vaping gives me a ritual - getting my liquid, modding my carts when I use them, plus the hand/oral thing.
I have also vaped 0 nic for a day and didnt have the "nic-rage". - I had my PV and was happy. I use the nicotine because I know it is keeping me away from the analogs, but I am getting lower and lower as each week goes by.
DH and I were talking about this very thing yesterday...the "ritual" of smoking.
I've been vaping for 10 days today. When I started, I vowed to pay close attention to "how" I smoked and found the following:
- When I watch TV or am at the 'puter, I smoke mindlessly! I found myself reaching for them without even thinking...reach out my left hand and there they are.
- With regard to "reaching out with the left hand", I noticed that I almost ALWAYS place my cigs on my left side (except in the car...no where on the left to put them!).
- With regard to smoking in the car, the moment I finish clicking the seatbelt, I light a cig. I also noticed a moment of something akin to panic when I'm about a mile or so from work...too close to finish one before I get there.
- I did not crave a cig right after I ate, which suprised me...big time!
- When I'm standing around talking, I chain smoke.
As for not needing the nic, so far I haven't tried a recipe with 0 nic. I've JUST put the analogs down and, to be honest, I'm sort of scared to eliminate the nic right now (don't want to go into a feeding frenzy, KWIM?). I have been vaping from 9 to 14mg pretty heavily for the last couple of days, but I have NO idea how those numbers compare to analogs. I smoked Winston Lights, 2+ packs per day.
What I "did" notice, however, is that I do not need a tobacco flavor of any kind, which just blew me away! I made a blend of unflavored nic/VG/PGA as a base and then used 7 drops of base + 3 drops of various flavors and then dripped each one...the clear winner was caramel + banana, followed closely by english toffee, then butter rum.
