This will be my last question for awhile.... I hope. So also at the smoke shop in my town, they have e liquids which are... either all PG or all VG (can't remember which) they also have 50/50 and 70/30. I want a good throat hit and good 'blow out' vapor. Some of the ones I tried, the back of my throat burned. Can someone please recommend what I should try?

70/30 is what I use. as far as flavor goes, that's up to you. I keep a pretty good variety of flavors from different vendors on hand, and switch it up throughout the day. I usually have 4 or 5 tanks with different juice in them. if your looking for good online vendors, I could give you a list that I use. I haven't had much luck with store-bought e juice, they all seem to taste the same.:vapor:

The first would probably be all VG - some people are sensitive to PG.

A higher percentage of PG will give you a bigger throat hit. More VG will give you more vapour. Nicotine also contributes to throat hit. You should probably go for the 50/50 with high nicotine for the best of both worlds, however there's other factors.

I find VG over 35% tastes heavy and oily. PG carries flavours better while VG tends to mask them. It's really personal preference, you're going to get dozens of different answers to this one.

If your throat was burning, that sounds more like a dry hit rather than any function of the juice.

Could be, but a dry hit is pretty unmistakable! Some juices just hit harder than others - cinnamon based flavours, for example. Nicotine content also plays a part. And let's not forget that vaping can take a bit of getting used to - I used to find it pretty harsh on my throat to begin with.

If it were me and I was still trying to figure out what all best works for me/what I like best...I would order online...they are usually much cheaper than B&M stores...even when you add in S&H...then I would order a bottle of 50/50..one of 70/30 and 65/35...all in the same flavor...because I have noticed that some flavors give more of a throat hit than others, even when they are mixed the same. That way you can figure out which works best for you. Once you figure that out...then I'd go for the more expensive juices...if you want.

IMO...the best place for cheap ejuices..super fast shipping and GREAT flavors, is Mt. Baker Vapor dot com....you can have them make your juices at what ever % you want...doing it this way, you won't be out of a lot of $$ buying up different ones to find what you like best.

Good luck!

Also remember that that more VG that is in a juice the thicker the juice is. The more PG the runnier it is. This can make a difference depending on the wicking of the device your using. If you're using a device that wicks slowly and then a 50/50 mix might give you more dry hits , but if it's a fast wicking device then a 70/30 mix might flood your coil.

This is usually a trial and error type of situation.

If you're looking to have all the options of DIY without having to DIY I suggest checking out EC blends or if you want to start making DIY juice check out DIY Flavor Shack they do have pre-mixed juices that I personally like better than EC blends but not as much customization available on the website. If you call Dawn at the number listed for DIY FS she will be more than happy to help get whatever you want exactly how you want, tell her holbie sent you over, she is the best in customer service based in las vegas so shipping to you in cali should be quick. I live in Indiana and it only took 5 days for my order but I placed it on Saturday so only 4 business days.

I'm a 60/40 at ~15mg myself. I too have oticed that in store, mostly from big names, taste similar. I have the TW store right down the road, and I needed juice. So I went in and asked for the best watermelon juice. The lady told me it was her favorite, very real tasting and earthy. Little did I know that meant it tasted like dirt. I have never had a vad juice buyig offline (some need log steep times) but have gotten 2 bad juices from a big name B&M place.

When I first started out, I looked online for juices. Had no idea what would ring my bell, but I went to a kiosk in the mall and sampled a few. Found one I liked (something I never would have ordered online because of the name) and it's something I've stuck with since July of last year.
I've tried many juices, all different nic levels. I'd say if you have a shop close that you could sample that's great, or from what I've heard many vendors have samples they'll send. Just keep trying some, most people have many that they love. Hope it's the same for you!

That's true, however if the wick is not quite keeping up you don't get a full on dry burn, the flavour just goes off a bit. I notice if I'm in flavour overload and not tasting much anymore, I can get to this point and not notice until it's too late. It's a sure sign that I need to put the PV down for a short while and drink lots of water.

I wonder if this is one of the main reasons sore throats are so common in new vapers? As we gain experience we learn how to reconise the warning signs better and do something about it. When I think of the disasters I had in my first week...
