I think you have the type of PT with NO in-line battery. If so, you need a 5V @ 2 Amp (2000 mA) wall wart or car adapter like the ones at madvapes.com.

If it has a battery then you only need 5V @ 0.5 Amps, or 500 mA (milli-Amps), because it is only used to charge the battery. A higher Amperage may trip the protection circuit in the battery (it acts like a breaker switch, but resets itself), causing it to quit working until you plug it into something with less amperage.

I have an 808 PT (no in-line battery) and use this one.

Belkin - Micro AC/DC Power Kit for Apple® iPod® and iPhone - Black - F8Z493-03-BBY

I bought it from Best buy. It's specs are 5v/ 1 amp. The nice thing about it is it has both a home outlet and car power supply.

Prior to buying it I did my research on ECF and the consensus I was hearing was all you need is 5v and 1 amp minimum to get good performance. I've been using these for a month now and I can tell you they work like a charm.

madvapes 5v2a wall wart is 9.49, and he has the 5v2a car/usb for 9.49.

What's Wall Wart? only kidding... I bought the other one from Wallmart and that's the one that burnt out.... Do you know if the one he had was a fold out wall and a cigarette lighter style? Or... do you remember the manufacture's name?
Thanks for the help guys...and gals.... :toast:
