I got to thinking about it, and you know the one thing that I realized that makes this forum sooo much better than the usual forums you find out there? You don't have the elitist pr!x you get with most forums where every question is answered with "It's called the search button... use it dumb@ss." People ask close to the same questions day in and day out, yet people around here are always willing to help. Kind of gives you the warm fuzzies, doesn't it...

Yup! Agreed! There IS the odd rude person, but they're blasted out of here pretty quickly!

The reason we're all here and put in so much time, I believe, is because we can all RELATE. We ALL used to smoke. We ALL went through the 'dumb@ss' phase. WE were helped along and are now LOVING vaping and we WANT to help others feel the same way. So, ECF is born! :)

I for one love this place.
The people really are great and I look forward to paying it forward when I know what the heck I'm talking about

As previously said, I think it's because we all share something similar.
We ALL have a common goal and this subject matter is just so damn important.

ECF WILL give me back about 10 years of living.
Now that's something to truly get warm and fuzzy about..........

It is so nice to come here daily and even though there are a lot of repeat questions, normally a link to the information is provided but there are still many of us who don't mind going overboard to help out a newbie. Paying it forward to me is rewarding and I always remember the fact that I was once a newbie too.

To me the only stupid question is one that you don't ask.

It's a strange phenomenon to vaping forums in general.

I think it's due to the constant influx of "new experts." After just a few days, one learns almost all of the basics of the most common newb questions:

1. What ecig looks most like a real cigarette?
2. What liquid tastes like my brand?
3. What ecig should I order?
4. What's that horrible/burnt taste?
5. Why do the flavors all taste alike/weak?

The new people who have already had their questions answered are usually so excited and turn into evangelists. They can answer most of the brand new newb questions.

The "veterans" are people who have been around for several months or a couple of years. They eventually stop posting as much in the New Member area, because the older newbs will help the newer newbs. This keeps some of the more jaded responses in the New Member area to a minimum, because most the people are new and excited themselves, can answer the easy questions and are eager to help! :D

The veterans (who get tired of answering the same 5 questions over and over) eventually wander off into the mod or discussion areas or just don't come around the forum as often.

It's an interesting dynamic that you don't find on non-vaping forums!

I'd still be answering more, but I'm not allowed to post in the New Members area anymore. :(

At least I know my FAQs and Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Your 510 info threads are still there to help people! :)

There is a terrific spirit of helpfulness here. I think one reason the attitudes of the experienced are so good is that nobody can legitimately say something like "in all my thirty years of vaping..." since the maximum "old pros" are maybe at three years, if that. And there's the extra benefit of a mainly nonjudgmental consensus about smoking and smokers (since everybody is or was). Plus, the whole thing of e-cigarettes is so new that there's a lot of room for innovation of both design and technique, and good ideas come from the experienced and the inexperienced alike.
