$20.05 Authentic Smoktech Magneto Mechanical Mod - telescopic tube at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
It's $20, it's authentic (not a clone), and it's a solid mod w/ a magnetic switch. I have one and love it. Just keep all the threads and the switch clean and it will be a great piece of gear.
I have a V1. It rocks.![]()
whoah! that's a pretty unique bottom switch design!
Don't think I could part with mine. I still use it all the time. My Dark Horse, coiled .65, is on it right now. I came close to buying another one last month, but passed on it in hopes of finding another V1 used somewhere ;-)Yup. All the contacts are brass. It disassembles easily for cleaning. It has a reverse threaded locking ring on the switch. It was my ADV for about 6 or 7 months. My ol' lady's kid is using it now with an Atlantis and my old KF Nano.
+1. Definitely go with a regulated. Meching is a lot of fun, but it's not a game for the new vaper.I can +1 on the Magneto for a first-time mech mod. It's what I started off on, and it was fantastic. I still keep it around in the event of an emergency, though it's beat to death now. All kinds of weathering/scratching/natural patina'ing. I call it the "Mag-Beato" because it's definitely a "beater" mod. My friend torched his Magneto and it's a deep purple color, almost blue in the light, but unfortunately in torching it he de-magnetized all his magnets -- the button is pretty much non-functioning -- and somehow created a load of voltage drop (dunno how?) It's literally the coolest-looking thing I've ever seen, but it's not functional in the least. Anyway..
My main question is: Why do you want to go the mech mod route? Is it the form factor, or something about the bottom switch design? There are a load of regulated mods that could likely accomplish whatever you're aiming for in your vaping experience, and I'm almost always in favor of regulated mods over mechs (especially for newer vapers).
I can, and often do, help people learn how to use mech mods. I have not done so in this case because I do not care for the responsibility. For my part, I like to see some solid commitment to safety before I will go there. Other persons are free to make other choices, of course.Instead of telling people all the time not to get one, why don't we help them learn how to use it? They do have some advantages. No electronics to fail. They take up less room.
We all started somewhere![]()
