what methods, juices, reducing nicotine levels, and switching to non-nicotine flavors to quit for good

i have been reading on the forum of people who say they quit smoking three years ago, but are vaping. well maybe its better but my goal is to use this to get rid of smoking and then rid myself of vaping (since its certainly not healthy either).

who has quit smoking and then quit vaping also? how did you do it, your technique? time length? what would you recommend?

is it recommended to have some juices with nicotine and then without and slowly switch over to the non-nicotine ones.

Searching for a path to success!!

When I 1st starting to vape and quit smoking I was vapeing 36-38nic level. After a year or so I dropped down to 24nic level. And plan on dropping down to the next lowest soon. All I can say is do what you think you need to do. Start in the middle 18nic and work your way down to 0? Or start with a higher nic so the transition is more smoother.

Get into DiY juices imo. You can control your nicotine level precisely. At the moment, all the juices I make for myself are at 0.5 mg/ml of nic. I'm reducing it by 0.1 per week. Eventually, I will get into miniscule territories like 0.05 and I plan on making this transition very very gradual as I have a very strong affinity to addiction, and cold turkey has never worked for me.

Hum, I'm pretty sure most would consider .5 mg/ml miniscule.

It took me about 6 weeks to go from 24mg to 1mg. I dropped 5mg/week until I was down to 5mg, then reduced by half. (Currently at ~0.12mg)

That's pretty steep drop compared to how others have done it. I adapted to the lower nicotine faster than I thought and just kept going. Let your body tell you how fast or slow to go.

I dropped from 18mg to 3-6 (depending on the juice company) and I never noticed anything. Maybe I vaped a little more but I really don't think so. Recently, I bought a bunch of juice and 1/2 my order was 0mg. I don't even remember what what's which. I'm still not noticing anything. So, from now on, I'm ordering 0mg and eventually I'll run out of nicotine juice. Lol! For me, it's just a head game. I switched my wife's juice without telling her and she didn't know she'd gone from 24mg to 6-8 until I told her 2 weeks later. She was surprised, but happy. I think it's almost ALL a head game.

I don't really have any plans to quit vaping - my doctor is cool with it so I don't really see any reason not to enjoy the flavor and the process.
